SFV Lounge: No News after the grass, 10K POWERRRRRRR

I’ve driven plenty of the new stingrays from being at my old job. Automatic and manual they’re both fun. The people that just do basic work commute with some golf get the automatics but the real die hards or the younger people who love to race get the manuals with huge mufflers and exhausts.

Driven a few Shelbys also. This one guy had one where it was like you couldn’t hear anything but the engine once you started that thing. Might as well not have a sound system in there.

A coworker of mine had a brother who had a burnt orange Veloster. He wanted to sell it to me but I was too broke then.

I’ve not driven either of those :frowning: last time I was at the dealership to buy my veloster the salesman was like yeah man have a crack at the Shelby… but I figured I’d fall in love and get unhyped on my veloster. There is no real power comparison between the 2.

But the veloster for how gutless it is, is very sporty, looks cool to me, has great braking and gets lots of compliments even though it’s 7 years old.

I like it so much that I’ve been thinking that when I pay it off, I might trade it in for a veloster type N. But the new velosters don’t really do it for me so maybe not, Hyundai is designing them to be less audacious and more family car which ruins the entire point for me. If a person wants a “sporty” family car just get an I30N

But yeah, I’m trying to enjoy my middle age. Working at a gym, “picking up hotties” because that’s what I’m paid to do. Being around the beautiful people and working out 5 days a week. Shits a blast. Just need that fucking mustang and I’m good to go, even got some new tats… Dime is wildin out I tell ya.

When I say there needs to be a distinction I’m referring to proper use of the English language. Refering to Daigo and LeBron under the same umbrella term implies (in this topic) that there is a similar level of physicality going on.

Nerds (no shade im a nerd too) flicking their damn wrists on a video game controller is not the same thing as LBJ running up and down the court and putting the moves on 7ft freaks of nature. It’s not even in the same ballpark.

And to be clear, nobody is saying that these various activities don’t require skill or that they lack physical requirements.

Also, I think you are misusing the term “physicality” here, which I’m only pointing it because its related to what I’m saying. Definition from Google:

  1. the fact of relating to the body as opposed to the mind; physical presence.

  2. involvement of a lot of bodily contact or activity.

Now I’m not saying those are the only way to use the words, but these two definitions are difference between an LBJ and a Daigo.

LBJ getting on a stick has literally nothing to do with the discussion, since him losing has nothing to do with physicality or athletes vs non-athletes. A pro will always beat an amateur at anything. If we are trying to pit them against each other (for some reason?) it needs to be one or more physical activities they are both amateurs at. But i think this is dumb because obviously LeBron would wash Daigo at probably anything that involves more movement than sitting in a chair.

Golf is literally the “sport” for older (midlife not old old) people who either can’t or won’t do a real sport but still want to feel good about themselves by being active. Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but there is no physical confrontation or simultaneous actions. Just guys taking turns hitting the ball. And again, its not as simple as that, but the physical baseline for golf, dart throwing, shooting, etc, is much lower than say, hockey.

Not done typing but my phone is lagging so im just “saving” here.

Edit: Actually you know what I’ll just call it there i don’t feel like typing anymore on this subject. Yall can say im wrong or whatever i don’t care. I just don’t have any more fucks to give on this.

Golf is sport
Golfers are athletes
So are gamers
Etc

Anyone got the hitboxs on Kages normal’s? Specifically his jabs, those things seem amazing.

I’ve never complained about SFV’s damage but I definitely never will now

I always laugh when peeps say SFV damage is too high. Other fighters got 80-100% to death on the regular. :joy:

Lol idk what absurdity that is. Is that Akuma specific or are all the characters like that?

If everyone is like that you definitely don’t need BS comeback mechanics like VT lol.

I just saw that. I would stop playing Tekken for a couple weeks if that happened to me.

It’s Akuma specific although Geese can get close to that also. Full resource Akuma is basically A groove waiting to happen.

Quite a few Tekken characters can get that kind of damage.

The metered DLC characters are kinda bonkers if the touch you with rage and resources lmao.

wow, his buttons are stubby but boy are they good.

Wait so there is comeback mechanic in that vid? I don’t know anything about Tekken.

Old games were always high damage. It’s only when SFIV launched did people worry about damage with its heavy forced scaling on shit. Never heard anyone complain about a game having too much damage until the day that game launched. Then Marvel 3 came out a year or so later and in that game if you breathe on someone they get 100 percented.

Yup. Stubby isn’t necessarily that big of a problem if you have good walk speed and his V Skill is basically an anti poke any way. Kage can fight Bison’s buttons better than most of the other cast. Kage has a surprising amount of disjoints on his shit and has a lot of plus 3 stuff.

I’m not seeing it eight Kagaes normals. Small red hitboxes engulfed by huge green hurtboxes with the worlds smallest amount of disjointedness in certain few moves.

I’m liking kage a lot though. Falling back in love with the character. His v triggers are too fucking good and his damage once it’s been setup is amazing.

Just rage mode. Increases damage and makes your rage drive and rage art available. Still gotta play neutral and it’s not a free in.

Unless you are Geese Howard, it seems.
He always seem to get in free at any situation he wants in Tekken 7.

801strider just smoked JB’s Rashid 6-0 with his G.

It’s always nice seeing Rashid get demolished.

When you’re at low health, your character goes into “rage” mode. In T7, being in rage also gives you access to a super another goofy special move that you can use to extend combos, put yourself in crazy + frames or both. You gotta land the hits though. In that case he handed a great hit with full resources and in rage mode. Bad things happen in those situations.
