it’s dumb considering how prevalent counter-picking can be in competitive SF. Ranked environments online should emulate the offline scene as closely as possible, which is why no forced ft2 and no character selection screen sucks a fat one.
Like, I’m not saying show the opponents character as soon as they pick because IV never did that either, but if you know someone by name and have a chance to counter their main, that’s the exact same situation you can end up in offline - so it should be a valid option for the ranked environment.
Special note to this, there was a time in SFV I would get matches at a good basis but then at some point I would have to wait from 5 minutes, to a half hour to get a match, and when I did it would be a lag fest.
Then me and my brother found out about NAT, and we discovered that ours was very limiting. Then we managed to change the NAT, and now we get matches at a much faster rate and connections are more consistently good.
I wish that was the case. I had my PS4 wired into my modem/router. My friend had the same modem/router also wired. He traded his in for the old one and I just set my modem/router to bridge and connected it to that Linksys. My issues disappeared the second everything booted up. I’m not talking Street Fighter either, I’m talking general PSN issues I was having. When I went to look into the situation (Locally through the ISPs forums) a lot of people were having issues with games routing IPV6 (You might get NAT 2 issues). So games running on the old IPV4 were perfectly fine, anything using IPV6 had issues. I think it’s a crapshoot to be honest. Your setup might be fine, but the person you’re connecting to might not be.
All my CPT refunds just got through. Untimely way to burn completely out of the game and lose all my steam, but I’ll still head to EGX to meet foreign friends. Roll on EVO, I need something new to change the form of the game if only a little, or tease something new coming.
I am a wee bit burned from SFV ranked so I am sticking to casuals this week. SFV can be a bit dull and stupid sometimes.
Still, I want to try to get diamond before SamSho with geriatric input lag saves the FGC for grandmas like me.

Man, there’s this guy in Master rank who keeps running into me in Casual matches. Dude has the longest losing streak with 10 billion different characters. He got me a bit at first with Abigail shenanigans, but pretty sure the man is tilted at the moment. No wait, think he got me once with Gief doing shenanigans.
After the double p, he loses the first game, but the Laura player continues to play dumb after and loses the next two games. Still entertaining stuff. He also beats a laggy GM Akuma, which was really entertaining. He ends the final round with an EX DP through his EX(VT1) DF Air Fireball.
