By the way, are local events pretty much the only viable method of playing CVS2 these days? The PS2 version doesn’t have online, the Xbox version died an eternity ago, Dreamcast never had online capabilities, and the PS2 version for PS3 is, well, just that - the PS2 version, so no online either
Yeah SFV was pretty boring and monotone. After that game I pretty much quit the FGC and just went back to my roots of PC gaming.

Whats funny is that Ibuki is one of the characters doing a lot of unique training mode nonsense in that actually makes it to matches games.

Ibuki, menat and Urien are the best lab monster characters.

Did I mention how good Ed’s st.hk is against characters that can’t easily punish a spaced one is? Shits so nice.
Right now, Ed’s worst matchups feel like the faster movespeed characters.
Ed is right where Sakura was before she got buffed.
Give him a 5 frame medium, make v2 good and some qol shit and he’d be easy mid high.

His current frame data won’t allow for a 5 frame because that would trap 3 framers from his jabs and it would also allow him to do jab>medium on normal hit.
Exactly, sounds good to me. Would also let him get fat punishes on -5 shit instead of going to jab.
Hmmm… I don’t think it would serve the spirit of the game for any of that to happen. He still traps 3 frames well, has a low that confirms into KD that is only -2, a VT that closes gaps and lands at advantage and does crazy damage, crazy good AA, very nice and abuseable anti button CC, true tick throw, and easy mode confirms cause of his 2 button specials.
The only real buff I think he needs in his current moveset is psycho upper comboing from lights. As it is you only get ex psycho upper from ranged light confirms, which kinda sucks but is better than nothing.
I just remember his punish game being a real sore spot for me when I was messing with him. Normal psycho upper from lights would probably work as well and be a lot tamer lol.
