Why not macros then? Just program the combos?
Read what I typed up.
Benefits and drawbacks on that.
I don’t understand? You are okay with something like full macros or not?
The most I can stomach for auto combos are low dmg almost useless ones like in dbfz.
From a gameplay pov i’m not ok with them, takes away the fun.
You’re… kinda just stating stuff I’ve already agreed with here. The one statement I disagree with is that there are things that can only be done on Hitbox in Tekken, rather than it “merely” making several core things easier (and a couple of fringe things, like OTGF/JFSR and P2 EWGF, harder). Unless I misunderstood you, that’s what you claimed in the post you made before the one I quote now.
I’m talking about a controller that lets you program any macro you want?
What about turbo buttons?
My point is, I think even for you I think there is a line.
I’m not advocating banning hitboxes, I do think it’s important to acknowledge that it is a real problem though.
Btw since you mentioned sports.
Similar case with Ferrari dominating F1 in the past because their tires were simply superior.
Only two characters really benefitted from the hitbox and it was viper and doom it allowed viper to do some crazy shit even for Marvel’s standards lol. Fullschedule was given so much shit when he was beating top players
No, YOU are making to be solely about Tekken. Truth is that as of right now, people really haven’t looked to see if there are inputs they can do only because of hitbox. Takes a lot of labwork and the eye for it to find that type of stuff.
But across games? Yeah, its already been proven that there are things you can do only with hitbox. Whether or not it happens in Tekken is irrelevant.
full schedule adding extra buttons in random places. I remember when that happened because people were defending it.
Its just like adding an extra jab, its no big deal.
Should’ve never let pad warriors enter the scene.
get a scrubs.
F1 also has rulings about telemetry, engines, and transmissions.
Golf had to deal with those giant alloy drivers
Speed skating had to deal with new skate designs (interestingly they allowed it)
Track had to decide what to do about the “blade runner” and martial arts is dealing with trans athletes (these last two also get mixed up in political discussion.
They called that nigga’s Stick the Infinity Gauntlet.
$200 well spent.
…yes? That’s the FG taking up 95% of my playtime nowadays, which is why I’m using that as an example? And that, to the best of my knowledge, there are no “this is only doable on Hitbox”-cases in that particular game?
I’m off now btw, so if there’s anything else you’d like to add, I probably won’t respond.
Let’s use an SFV example.
A hitbox lets you flash kick a few frames faster than on stick or pad.
Is this fine? Especially given that this move wasn’t designed with this input method in mind.
To me that’s the difference between pad/stick and hitbox. For the most part the games are designed with pad/stick in mind and not a hitbox So the rules of the games aren’t always really balanced with that in mind.
…The God of Anti-Airs is weeping in despair on this day.
I watched that vid of Daigo using hitbox. Dude said flash kicking Karin’s overhead was faster than trying to block.
This is like the worst advertisement SamSho could get right now.
Fucking FINALLY learns to DP and shocking bodies. Only took 300 jumps.
Now I have a good idea what SamSho day 1 will look like.
