SFV Lounge: No News after the grass, 10K POWERRRRRRR

I don’t mean game quality, I mean how they operate.

Most western devs you understand why it is their doing what they are doing, and they usually have more modern methods of communication.

Not really trying to defend or attack any dev, just saying there is a significant cultural barrier. People make the same complaints against most all the Japanese developers. ASW still won’t put out real English patch notes most of the time as another example.

Ono had to plee for years to get the allowance to make SFIV and then he still had to look for outside devs (dimps) and money sources.
One of the reasons why they put more and more costume DLCs in.

SFV also lacks arcade income, unlike IV.

But basically Capcom pretty much considerd SF dead since SF3 flopped and the following FG’s didn’t do to well. (despite CvS2 and MvC2 probably being the best games for their type of fighetr)

You guys have a thread for that in GD. I will flex a gaunlet on all of you for trying to talk about bullshit in the wrong places when you already have a thread for it.

IDGAF either, I’ll fight Jin and d3v on this.

FIGHT ALL OF YOU

Or… go see the movie.

It’s worth it.

Marvel is literally spoiling the movie themselves now.

Honestly, it may be at the point where they do consider the FGs a lost cause again. Multiple successive failures will do that. Why put all the work into the Fighting Game Division when you’re back on top of the world in the other markets again?

Microsoft decided to bring back KI when there was literally no men in suits reason to bring that back. They’ll always want to try a new hand. That’s companies. Capcom is the reason 2d fighting games exist in the way that they do, so they’ll always be in the game.

Or go post in the right place instead of forcing spoilers in a thread irrelevant to the topic.

You wont die from keeping topics seperate.

Microsoft also brought it back after a LONG hiatus. It’s not like they brought it back immediately after a failure.

Capcom will try again, but there’s no guarantee it’ll happen for a few years. They could easily say “Hey, it hasn’t worked out but our other shit is going great. Let’s put FGs on the backburner again for about 5 years”.

Im flat out exhausted by Japanese devs. No communication and shitty netcode is old as fuck. Not dealing with it.

I will settle for nothing less than all dlc characters and a balance patch. I dont expect any netcode or radical change to the gameplay. Too late for that. They’d wait for sf6

With the release of Type Arcade some months back, do you believe Capcom will start to cater to that scene again? There was an early Arcade prototype of SFXT, but as we all know, that’s something they never went through with.

Seeing as how ASW decided to bring Cross Tag Battle to Arcades well after release, with SNK planning to do the same with SamSho once the PC version is ready, it makes me wonder if what Capcom’s next move will be with their new fighting game.

Watching Arcade footage of fighting games is something I enjoy doing.

You dont want to play SF5 in the first place, Capcom wont really do anything to bring you back.

Watching Acho is really fun and you can learn a lot.

I do think they learned that the Arcades are an income they shouldn’t ignore.
I was in a Arcade in Osaka once, they literally played everything as long as it has a cabinet.
Also the addition of Netplay in Arcades is a great thing for the short distances in Japan are their Netcode outstanding.
Well unless your SFV then the Netcode is always shit.

They wanted to do it from earlier. It was just couldn’t get an agreement with Taito.

If Capcom still wanted to invest in a cab 3 years into a game that they firstly marketed to the west, it’s obvious they’re staying in fighting games for a while.

I do tho. I like sfv. I accept it for what it is. I dont hate it or even dislike it.

Its just no longer interesting enough to keep me coming back without new content. Its stale and im angry they would let it go this long without saying anything about the game that isn’t costumes

The scene I was referring to was the Arcade scene. We know most of their big fighting games (MVC3, SFXT, MVCI) were console only. If Capcom were to announce something like a Capcom All-Stars, could you see it getting an Arcade–>Console transition? Or do you think only something like SF would receive that?

I was addressing both console and arcade in my statement. If they’re going to do something as crazy as create an arcade cab for a game that mostly has an online environment outside of CPT, they’ll be willing to do more things. In arcade and on console

FGs these days usually are console first, arcade second. Even Japanese know catering to the western/console culture is generally more important first. Only Namco has that real hard arcade Japan base where they can pull an arcade first. Fighting game arcades are still second to Gundam Pods and Pachinko machines.

You dont like SF5 then.

Look, I’ve been playing games that will never be updated for decades. If you need updates to keep you interested, then you just dont really like the game. Gameplay isnt compelling enough to you.

And thats fine.

If I wasn’t trying to get good in Tekken/MK I’d probably be grinding SFV to hit master and pass that Twin scrub.

True. Unless you’re trying to rank grind or go to CPT it’s better to just play other stuff if you’re not really vested in the game. Smug said he’s trying to get into tournament NK11 by Combo Breaker or the month after so we’ll see where that goes.

man fuck outa here lol! Thanos dabs on Tony and Tony does the backpack kid dance on Dr. Strange.

Hows that for spoilers!
