Only XP.
I decided to check the meltdown on ShillHubs.
It’s sickening how they’re grasping at any possibility for a positive spin out of this.
A bit more than a year ago, Ono said that SF5’s lifetime sales then are close to 2.5 million. Could the sales since then have been so underwhelming that Capcom wants to cut season support so soon? I sincerely doubt it.
I’m not sure what the viewership numbers for the CPT were, but I get the feeling they may not have been as good as last year purely because of the change in event timing and the location.
Historically, when Capcom release “shoto clone” characters like Evil Ryu it signifies the slowing down of game design and support. However, Evil Ryu is in the top 15 most popular characters, and easily the most recognizable yet-to-be released top 15 character from last year’s popularity poll. Anyone with a solid business sense would’ve released him first.
So I wouldn’t completely count Capcom out just yet. Kage is them literally giving what most of the fanbase wanted.
I’m taking a wait and see approach but it would be gravely disheartening if we don’t get at least 2 more full seasons of characters.
“Historically”
Thats only been the case for one game. Wtf?
He has regular access to HKDs? Having them tied to vtrigger is still good but less valuable than what ibuki has. Also i dont think +2 standing resets are that great without a command grab. They’re ok.
It looks like most of his good stuff is tied to vtrigger. But at a glance his vtriggers look much more fair than 2bar menat/abby/kolin.
They said 2020.
Plus i remember when season 1 was going to be the last season so can’t get any worse
when was s1 ever going to be the last season
Standing +2 resets are godlike, especially against characters with no reversals and you don’t deal with wakeup and meaty timings.
You immediately put your opponent into a mixup they gotta hold. Shimmy, grab or buttons and Kage is all about mixups, popping trigger and burning meter into high ass damage.
+2 resets are great when you have a 5 frame medium.
His ex hado iirc is an HKD, and you can setup ambiguous crossups and safe jumps off of it.
Not a HKD. Crumple. +2 resets are good with or without 5f mid, you can just threaten jab. Alex lives off of them from a lot of his stuff.
Anyone that thinks Kage is bad is smoking some shit. Mans is sfv meta as fuck and almost half the cast wishes they released this good.
Kage is top 5 for sure, think he struggles in certain match-ups quite a lot to be better than Akuma or Menat though.
Can they quick rise/ backrise off of it? If not, it’s effectively an hkd, but with a different animation. All hkd has ever meant is your rise is forced and you have no options other than to rise.
some hkd are highly plus frames, others barely give you any setup time. But they are still hkd as long as the opponent has no alternating rise options.
playerbase on pc same as with ps4 depends on where you from.
in the eu i have no issues at all to find people in games like mkx, ij2, tekken7, soulcal and so on.
its a 1v1 game so the playerbase dont need to be actually really big to find people to play with. even in usf4 you still get some matches going. community on pc is growing due to more and more games come out for it in the past years.
Wrong. Throws are not HKDs, they don’t allow backrises. HKDs don’t offer a rise option.
If you read what I said…
Go back and read. Throws give you quick rise OR no rise. Quick rise is an alternative rising option, therefor throws aren’t hkd.
Hkd means you have 1 rise timing and you can’t do anything about it.
HKDs don’t give you a rise option. So it’s not a HKD. I don’t wanna argue semantics, it’s not a HKD or similar to one.
HKDs let you sit on the ground for a year like Tekken
Yup. Another one of those characters that Capcom gives every tool imaginable, then slaps low health on them as justification for all their bullshit. It’s so annoying to see so many characters that need real help or a little bit of cheapness, but Capcom refuses or chooses to play safe with them and keep them mediocre except for the few they seem hellbent on keeping exceptional.
Yeah, they don’t give you an alternating rise option. If a crumple doesn’t give you an alternating rise option, that crumple is an hkd. Shit isn’t arguable at all.
It’s like trying to say dan doesn’t have a projectile because it doesn’t go fullscreen and ryus does. Hkd means you have 1 rise timing. That’s it. Ends of story. Doesn’t matter if you fly through the fucking air first, or if you drop through the screen. 1 rise timing means hkd aka, some shit you can vortex off of with proper frame advantage and spacing.
