SFV Lounge: Menat BUFFED, F2P SFV coming, CCCC COMBO BREAKERS coming

I never agree with you on anything but your post was on the money this tome.

I hate fighting Shotos with Kolin.

Taking out full invincibility from all meterless reversals and making command grabs 5f startup proved to be great successes, hope SF6 keeps them that way since the beginning.

All SFs are a kneejerk reaction to the previous one, but I hope SF6 doesn’t end looking SF4-esque, that game and its gameplay can stay dead.

Watching Hi Score Girl was a mistake. It is so good. Such a great romantic comedy…
So great that now I feel all girly and yearning to be playing fighting games with a would be rival/boyfriend. :sob:

I must purge those nasty feelings out of my body and mind!

Given the irrational usually unfounded anger hurled at Capcom for “recycling” animations in SFV, actually reusing assets would get them lambasted. I still remember idiots swearing that Kolin and Laura’s overheads were the same.

I need an opinion from a Samurai Shodown fan. SSV Special is on sale

is that a good one to jump in or SS IV is still the best? It seems most fans agree that VI is bad.

If you buy it there’s a guy named @TheDoctaMario who would be happy to help you out learning it.

GD cat, pretty nice. He plays that and stuff on Fightcade.

There is no doubt in my mind Kage is Top 10. No real fireball sucks, but that’s legit the only thing he’s missing. He’d be an undisputed top 3 if he had one. Kage still packing a ridiculous amount of tools. He may be at a disadvantage against zoners, but I don’t feel like any matchups other than akuma and birdie(possibly Cody too) are worse than 5.5 - 4.5.

@Frost

Speaking of Cody, where do you think he’s at now? Personally feel like he’s stupid good right now or I just play characters he whoops on.

Get it. Imo it’s the best SS.

All I want from SFVI is a netcode that allows me to properly AA without having to resort to single-button moves because the startup of jumps looks like characters are teleporting into the air.

I also don’t want to see Crush Counters again.

And no more dash happy YOLO crap all over the place.

Its kinda funny how solid 3SOE was and how not good SF5 is. Capcom needs to just relax and pay the cannons.

no discord channel? I’m not really comfortable with whatsapp for those kind of things

All I ask for is a game that has a nice amount of content. Capcom can’t releasing their fighters with anemic content and expect to bring in sales. It just isn’t a good strategy. So stuff like Story, Arcade, Trials, and Gallery need to be in from the jump. A World Tour Mode would be great, or something similar to Persona’s Abyss Mode. They need to start experimenting with bringing fun to the single-player experience. I’m sure they’re well-aware leaving that area unattended will do them more harm than good.

Funny how? All anyone did when 3SOE came out was bitch about how inferior it was.

Yeah, but at the same time Capcom has a grand total of one FG in their history with a decent SP experience in SFA3 and even then it’s not something anyone would buy the game for. If SFV has shown anything it’s that Capcom is better off not wasting resources on an experience they are completely inept at doing. I’d rather them have just a simple Arcade Mode and Challenge Modes. Yes, it doesn’t come close to some of the other FG offerings but trying to challenge them in that respect just made them look even worse. It’s okay to abandon the things you can’t do in order to focus on improving the things you can.

Um no no no. As bad as you claim the SF5 story offerings are, they are not without their merit, fun, entertainment and endearing charms. So many of us find joy in Capcom’s characters not purely because of how they play, but rather because of everything else which includes personality and story development.

SF5:AE is easily the most complete SF single player offering and the most robust story experience. None of us were expecting NRS levels of General Story, but Capcom took several steps in the right direction here (while still managing to make a great fighting game). Credit is given where it is due.

What I would want in SF6:

-better netcode
-crush counters removed
-unredesign the some of the characters’ redesigns they got in this game (particularly Juri, Karin and Vega)
-better walkspeeds like SFA3 (I could do without dashes, maybe with the exception of characters like Makoto who can keep hers because she is designed to walk slow)
-not to play like SF4
