No Bison player should ever complain about being run away from in this game. If you’re a Zeku player you can always just switch to Young Zeku and Y Zeku literally can’t be run away from. You just have to swing and hope he dies before he gets there.
That’s why I can develop Old Zeku like Young, when I’m the latter people act like I smell shit. Thank God I can run for real with him, so I can make the party jump pretty soon.
Big stages kind of started with 3S and CvS2. Both games have bigger screens than ST by miles.
3S stage size is way nicer than SF4 though. Feels like 3S gives you room to fight over without it being the first hit gets you cornered. Gotta go back to it to get a better sense of the stage. Probably a lot of good that can be figured out if you do a lot of math involving ratio of the size of the characters to the stage and walkspeeds.
Kind of how they did a thread in FGD to measure fireball strenght by the # of fireballs needed to kill you and comparing that across games.
Kage has helped me realize that nobody knows what the fuck footsies are unless it’s on the Evo screen. All that shit talk about Ryu and now they want to use a variation of Ryu :^) Now we have a army of players who are trying to go back to the basics which is walking forward a bit :^)
Basically this game does not teach you a damn thing I swear.
Well when you have regular fireballs that are punishable on hit and the original SFV dash in the same game, it’s gonna get a little nutty.
That’s why everyone hated Chun because she slowed the game down in a game where “everyone is a semi grappler”. Throwing people over and over is just a way of life in 3S especially with the kara throws.
That’s why I liked the game though as it was the first real SF I got into competitively and it wasn’t as A+B=C as other SF games. You have to play more by feel and intuition and not everything thrown at you is going to be reactable. Something that can also prepare you well for marvel and anime games that also have feel/unreactionary things about their neutral. 3S Yun mirror is basically like being able to hold a button and charge up your own v trigger.
I love when people complain about the dashes in SFV cuz I’m like, I’ve been dealing with that shit since before you guys even started playing IV. You’re gonna get dashed on but could still play neutral and win matches.
Dashes are still powerful if you know when to use them, but i felt like even when i perfectly scouted them out i got blown up, and its still a thing online especially. Too many fools online feeling themselves thinking theyre hot shit in neutral because they can mix up fireball with dash online. Theyre a lot more manageable now, offline at least
Now they have to catch you sleepin and actually put some thought into it
Yun is the biggest turnoff for me with 3s, one of the most overpowered characters in a fg ever.
Yeah input delay fix gives more room to react to them, just sleeping they will still get you. Gotta close dat gap.
Yun is cool. Luckily he required enough execution that almost nobody at tournaments was any real good with him. The main thing that made him manageable for me vs the few people that were good with him was that he wasn’t really able to rack up stun well since supers dont build stun. If you had decent defense vs Genei Jin you could survive running your stun bar up and focus on trying to stun him. I had more trouble vs Yang because 2 low forward exes and you’re stunned.
This new Falke isn’t working for me.
I am not getting anything out of her lights, the start up of standing shot is fucking every punish and combo of mine, s lk doesn’t hit half of the time after shot somehow lands because she was pushed too far away.
It’s working for me. You just have to use your mediums and heavies more where you would have used lights. Which is the harder part of playing Falke because youll need your one hit confirms down and such. When you get that down the pay off is better becuase you get safer situations to set up your better damage and corner carry than you did in S3.
