Noob question, when people say take the throw it means that if you take the throw you won’t get crush countered or combo’d and lose more life right?
I think VT2 is one of the best 3bars in the game, hard knock from literally any hit on top of demon 50/50s is definitely one of the best.
Only things I think he possesses that are like, standout strong are EX red and his crmk xx fireball jailing for easy VTC confirms. His normal arsenal overall is probably the worst of all the shotos though, for sure.
It’s “take the throw, since it’s better to suffer the damage and oki a throw inflicts compared to the combo you’d get after a successful shimmy or other throw bait”.
Yea. It means dont give up the super fat combo when your attempt to tech a throw gets punished. Its the theory of eating 120dmg instead of 250
Gotta compare it to Akuma, Laura, Menat, Abagail, Balrog, Bison etc. I think its good but its not like those.
I don’t know how to tag more than one person but to both y’all, but I’m guessing that doesn’t work in the corner?? Or against characters with throw loops since you’ll be in the same situation again??
That’s why “just take the throw” is a bullshit argument.
Ahh ok I get it now lol. Yea I was thinking if you take the throw you’ll be at the same spot again and again.
Jokes aside it’s more complicated than that. Oki after throw depends on character, some characters are better at forcing you into fake throw loops where you risk getting thrown to death or eat a counterhit compared to others.
I’d have to break out a list but if you were to wake up with a jab a few frames after you are fully awake you will be safe against 90% of characters in the game. You’ll block a true meaty and jab before they can actually get in range to throw you.
This will lose to a delayed meaty or it can be thrown if the character you are facing can get into throw range at only -2 or so. Sfv currently has very few real throw loops
Reacting with Cammy IS free. Cammy isn’t the rest of the cast though. Let’s see you do it with old zekus midscreen knockdowns.
…
Not every character is Cammy.
Pretty sure I could too, I’m just lazy. IDGAF that much about this game anymore so I’m not playing it to the fullest extent I could.
Gonna save up some pennies and buy 30th anniversary and then wash DevilJin in 3S.
How to beat Zangief in 3 steps
- Take the throw
- Ragequit
I’m not good at this game.
One time I decided to not take the throw with Kage and ended up doing a wake up jap into demon. Felt fuckin’ good too.
I remember hearing, before I played this game, that Daigo was thrown like 5 straight times.
You don’t have the frames or walkspeed on most of his knockdowns to do it. It’s more than likely possible off his mk koku and his ex koku, but both require medium confirms.
I can “react” to the different wakeup, but being in range to do anything is a different story. Not all knockdowns are the same. Cammy has a certain level of character privelege on her cannon drill knockdowns because either a double dash or single dash (can’t remember) will leave her at + frames in throw range for both KD iirc, so the on,y thing you are looking for is the wakeup. There no spacing consideration or big spacing consideration if I remember correctly.
TLDR… she has one of the best and most easy mode KD games in the game.
That didn’t happen once, that’s just the Daigo special.
It’s usually command grabs though.
Wasn’t that during Season 1? We don’t talk about Season 1 or beta.
I recall Mena beating Daigo at Capcom Cup 2017 basically by command grabbing him a lot.
Phenom command grabbed Daigo 5 times in a row because this game is lols.
