Most characters can’t THROW backrise without going into negative frames. Therefor you can backrise everytime, take your easy wakeup and get “punished” with 10-15 white chip for blocking a medium or heavy. Wait, if we cover both rises and react we will need to be using a faster move like a light jab so, no white chip either.
Not being able to throw a rise from advantage, is the definition of not being able to cover it. I don’t want no weakass blockstring.
And yes, I’m talking about midscreen. Corner it’s your world on wakeup, have a field day.
Backrise is THE ONLY reason why no reversal having characters can function in this game, well actually that’s hyperbolic. It’s the reason why there are so many characters that don’t have a wakeup with ex invincibility or that hits jabs.
Pretty much everyone above I just mentioned can cover throw on backrise, you just delay the throw and some may have to microwalk slightly. Not impossible though.
Backrise downside is that if you willingly backrise twice midscreen, you’re in the corner. Making it metered when it’s not an escape tool or alleviating wakeup pressure would be stupid.
SF4 was shit lol. Get knock down? Say hello to: Unblockables, Hard to blockables, Vortex, Option selects basically making you think less, apply OS, DP whoops they blocked its ok FADC, ect.

No. Not from plus frames. Not on most knockdowns. And not unmetered and certain,y not usually from a light confirm.
In order to get a “good” KD most characters need to spend meter and use a medium or heavy cinfirm.
As an example, urine even on a heavy ender (hk tackle) can’t throw backrise without being at negative frames, so when you see it, it isn’t real… not that real has anything to do with sf5, the entire game is based around stretching advantages.

Backrising adds to the advantage you get given from the knockdown, so I highly doubt that. I test oki, Sak just got given a backrise meaty throw iin new patch.
Backrise increases the distance you are away from the opponent. Continue to walk forward you will be at negative frames for most characters.
That’s the rule. There are few exceptions. But Cammy is one becaus her spiral arrow dash oki leaves her point blank versus both rises iirc. Chun is close to being the same, but not quite,
To test this is easy, knock the dummy down, have it mash a 3 frame on wakeup and see if you can throw them. If you can, have them do nothing on wakeup and see if you can still throw them. Chances are you can’t and the on,y reason why you were able to throw them the first time, if at all is becaus the jab extended their throwbox.

That’s because HK Tackle isn’t Urien’s best oki ender, headbutt is. You don’t just slap best oki onto every special ender option, especially on someone like Urien.
EX tatsu, HP.DP, MP.DP now covers backrise - which it couldn’t before. Big negative, but fixed now.
Pretty sure ex tatsu doesn’t work. I’m trying against kens 4 frame jab and I’ve not gotten it to hit him once. He’s too far away after double dash.
Hp dp same thing. No throw, jab seems to always win.

It’s +9 against double dash backrise so it’s plus 4 against quick rise. Hp dp is plus 11 against backrise after 1 dash.
How are you checking this? Against what characters? Midscreen? 3 framers? 4 framers?
all of the above, they work fine
anyway, point being, metered backrise would be fucking stupid with it’s current power level. It putting you closer to corner is more than enough, and you can more easily balance zoner archetype combo ender tools if you deny backrise oki opportunity, which is nifty.
