No hat tipping against blankas though, fuck that.
Vid pls. I think the frames are there for ex tatsu, but I’m not a believer for hp dp at all.
And besides, you said it was easy to cover wakeups, but if we are on,y talking specific wakeups then the point is still moot because we aren’t always going to be able to choose what we KD with.
Backrise is basically free. Needs meter.
Because E-Sports.
Jealousy is one of those multi-purpose words; it covers both of those situations and a bit more. Jealousy covers envying what someone else has, having something you don’t want others to have, and not trusting that someone is faithful (which derives from the others.)
Derives from zealous or zeal, which is to have great energy in the pursuit or cause of something.
Yeah, I’m a little bored atm.
Not gonna spend time recording, rendering and uploading just to satiate your inability to do it.
And it is easy to cover both, it’s as hard as any other manual timing. As I said, not every combo ender needs perfect oki options on both, that’d be fucking stupid.
Set your dummy to stand.
Can’t do it. You are throwing the hurtbox.
it already was.
Sure I am, if Dime can’t do it - it’s literally impossible.
Nope, your correct. I’m wrong. On this point. But it’s a small point. Most KD don’t allow this.
Also, “perfect oki options” is a non starter. There is no option that beats every wakeup even if the opponent is in hkd, so there is no perfect oki option. It’s not like an opponent in hkd just gets hit by an unblockabke they can do nothing about. There’s still a mixup there and depending on your defense the mixup is over… like taking the throw means the mixup is over when you wakeup.
There’s a much larger list of characters I named that are fine covering it, it’s a pretty slim list of characters who can’t cover it. Sure, you might need meter or standing to make it happen, but that’s a good thing in most of the cases. Backrise being metered would be terrible. It already has it’s drawbacks.
The moment at 4:20 is all the proof you need.
“The commentator’s curse”
Fuck SF4 though. I love SF4.
Giving up a characters length of space isn’t much of a drawback. Especially when the opponent stil, has to try and cover both rises with a reactive jab and still has to also account for reversals. There’s lots of ways for the defender to come away with a successful defense, very few ways for the attacker to come away with a successful offense. Though this of course changes per character.
The funny thing is SFV is supposedly “random” yet SFIV is the on with this match.
You don’t need reactive jab, I use setups that are mid and meaty on Cody that actually give me beefier options if they backrise, turning my mids from +3 to like +5 on block, or turning my cr.mk from +1 to +3. Sakura has similar options in the corner with her cr.mp, she gets more if they decide to backrise.
You’re acting like you lose out consistently if people decide to backrise, but that’s clearly not the case, lotta characters can get better lockdown options on backrises, I haven’t labbed every character in the game for backrise meaty options but I know that Cody’s options into backrise give me stronger presence if they decide to backrise midscreen.
Well I’m more inclined to believe you after that sakura thing. But watching the best players play and it’s 80% backrise. If backrise weren’t so good, they wouldn’t be using it almost everytime.
Anyone like me who always picks Akuma as the training dummy because he’s got everything to train with? Only general tools though, not counting character specific things
Also, another thing that comes to mind is that you will definitely have some pretty ugly L’s. No way around it. Sometimes I lose in the most dumbest way and all I can do is just laugh at it. Yeah, it can suck when the match was otherwise looking good, but that’s just something you gotta accept.
On the flipside, you’ll also experience some pretty exciting victories–so you gotta be willing to take the bad with the good. The way I see it, if you never have crushing losses, it makes those potential high feeling wins meaningless.
But deep inside…
Summary
Speaking of ugly Ls, I got to play a high level G with Sagat.
Shit was all fun and games on my end until he popped V Trigger and made look like an asshole
G is all Momentum Based. You save V-Reversals for when he pops V-Trigger and you use them at the right time to disrupt said momentum. You weather the storm and you win in short order once it’s gone.
So I just fought BlindWarriorSven. For those that don’t know, he’s a blind Ken player.
I was actually mesmerized at seeing him play. To know someone like that is able to play despite having a significant handicap hold them back is inspirational. Makes you wanna throw all of your excuses away and just play the damn game. What a world we live in.
