SFV Lounge: Menat BUFFED, F2P SFV coming, CCCC COMBO BREAKERS coming

It’s funny because it’s true. :V

One of the regulars at my local casuals played T.Hawk, and half his gameplan was to get himself knocked down and have the attacker guess if he’d do a command grab or a DP. The other was to make people guess if he’d do condor dive or empty jump SPD. He beat F-Word in a tourney by doing that at some point.

Needless to say, nobody wanted to play with him. ._.

Did you just call anime shit?

Uniest has more footsies and a heavier emphasis on neutral than your shitty SFs.
I would even argure that BB neutral is much better than SFs at this point

tlrd.
People tend to forget how much BS was in IV and how much bad mechanics were there.
But currently V is the actuell one, so it’s the one that gets all the shit.
2022 will SFVI be in V’s spot and V in IVs.

Advantage gotten without having to play footsies first, or win a footsies/groundgame war. So like typical bullshit would be viper burning kicks and sf4 divekicks and sf5 ex DR and jumpin mixups and -2 mixups and basic “I don’t wanna play footsies and you can’t make me” style moves… aka blanka, the entire character. Bla bla bla

Bullshit.

Hugo was super underrated, dude could bitch slap you to death.

Fucking this.

Sometimes it’s like fighting against a full trained military squad all armed up while you’re a child with a pair of school scissors. SF4 required more skill, but even that got thrown out of the window after getting pinned by Akuma. SFV required less execution, BS level is way lower, but at the same time you can have issues at dealing with the most basic BS possible like jump ins and dashes.

It’s a clear Capcom decision, SFV is more about decision taking than going in cruise control after you learned everything your character has to offer on offense and defense. Look at Tokido, he’s probably the best SF player ever at taking the right decision with minimal risk most of the time (starting with the character choice), then look at Problem X. The latter was good at SF4 too, but he wasn’t on the same level of the very bests back then. Now he’s shining because he’s a good decision taker too.

It would only be more purer if it didn’t have the backrise for free get out of jail card that most characters have to go into negative frames to punish. Backrise should cost meter.

A BS-less SF never existed and will never happen.

WRONG

We all know why it’s like that in V, setups in IV were too mean tbh. Never played against a full setup mode Gen? I do, never again.

SFV was better for having VSkills AND VTrigger compare to FADC, Focus and Ultra.

But it doesn’t mean SFV is better in many aspect than SF4.

Those tactics sound legit for IV. :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

GANDHI TOPS THIS. Empty jump into Cr.Lp XX LPDP is SUPERIOR.

No i did not. When you step into a non sf game you know what to expect. Air dashes, flying, running, double jumps etc. Movement is expected. Characters are covering approaches with screen filler and converting full screen stray hits.

In sf people expect limited movement and for the majority of characters to need to work hard to get in and press offense. Air approach is somewhat limited and the games tend to take a more grounded feel overall.

When everyone skips neutral or is flying all over the screen this is where an SF purist will call it bullshit. But not in the inherently negative way. It just means shits getting crazy.

Capcom aren’t gonna do that. Perhaps in 6. But that would’ve been a great idea. As backrise literally kills everything. They just don’t want heavey set play again in 5. That’s so very clear.

That’s the thing 5 and 4 are both hype at EVO level. But 4 has more classic tournaments that I can watch and enjoy over and over. I can’t really say the same for 5.

So Alpha is bullshit, SF3 is bullshit,SFIV is bullshit, SFV is bullshit and the EX Series is Bullshit (granted that EX Layer with SF Chars anway).
Got it.

he didn’t say it’s entirely prohibited, he said it’s limited.

most characters have backrise chase options, it doesn’t need to be metered. The characters who can’t chase backrise very effectively are in the minority and usually have something to make up for it, unless it’s Juri.

Off top of my head Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Cammy, Urien, Balrog, Bison, Cody, Kage, Zeku, Karin, Birdie, Kolin, Ibuki, Rashid.

Like, pretty much everyone in the cast can answer/cover backrise effectively. You just have to react to it. Only people I’m aware of who struggle with it are Gief and Juri. Sagat and Guile, but their combo enders reset to neutral.
