SFV Lounge: Menat BUFFED, F2P SFV coming, CCCC COMBO BREAKERS coming

Different character, but that reminds me of all the Xian/Infiltration sets in IV leading up to Xian’s Evo win. By the later ones, Xian was threading between air fireballs like time itself moved at a different rate for him.

Yeah, you were taking what… 2, 3 games out of 10 from an oldie who was back for 3 months after a 15+ years retirement.
“Good” stuff indeed.

Nah fam, I got that FT5 in the beginning of the year.

It’s a new year and new season. All those previous games don’t matter now! Yall gotta hop back into and run it back! Enough talking!

Volt has Sagat now so it should be all good.

Yeah, out of how many games total we did?
Then got bodied even harder by an even scrubbier Sakura of mine.
You could be improving, but you decided to run away instead. :sunglasses:

If there’s one character I really don’t want to see right after the fifth shoto it’s a friggin’ doll.

They should just bundle what dolls they already did for story mode and release them for free for offline and Lounge matches (all behind a single portrait on the select screen) and then just move on with more unique designs.

I would do a run back whenever he wants. Could even make it a FT10 and I would pick Gief and not Falke!

I was never too scared of air fireball in SFIV because of Focus Attack. Sure it technically put him into a better position but after a couple of those you had access to Ultra and suddenly every (air) fireball was a huge risk.

Plus SFIV was snappier all around which made reactionary play easier across the board. Letting go of the stick to get neutral MK as an AA was totally possible in that game. I don’t know if I could use a move like that in SFV.

Frost ate a few of the classic - block a fireball then throw one back immediately, but he knew he was doing it and stopped.

Blocking a fireball is the most dangerous time to do something because you’re immobile whilst I can move.

Sagats fb game in this is prolly stronger than 4. 31 and 27 for a DP character is pretty crazy. I thought for sure they’d be Ryu speed. Thank fuck they aren’t.

Yeah I already said they seemed better than IV at launch, but they gotta be for sure by now (the rate/safety makes using v skill absorbs risky even). He’s basically the exact opposite of what everyone joked he would be.

You can dp real late with LP dp from a low shot as well. It’s almost insane how close you can get to landing a jump in, but you can still get the dp out.

Prolly why his v skill is so slow, if you could load up AS at lower risk he’d prolly break some matches.

It’s something I gota get better at, loading times for v skill although I personally prefer the dash up space over the charge.

He’d only be breaking matches for characters that can’t beat him any way. Not having a strong v skill and ok at best CC building is why he can’t force himself as well in higher level matchups and part of why Bonchan likely still won’t bother solo maining him. All his buffs are basically to his win more neutral stuff, but he doesn’t have the scum or pressure that Menat or Guile have still.

It’s not just the air fireball I was referring to, it’s his whole aerial toolset that makes it rough for Chun in both IV and V.

As far as IV goes you’d need full ultra to make an air fireball punish that much of a problem and he has ways to bait any way. You’re still losing white health focus absorbing so you have to take some to get some. Neutral MK anti air is ok, but not scary for him. He generally otherwise can just play at a space that Chun can’t deal with while also being able to beat her on the ground. It may have felt more comfortable, but still a matchup where Akuma controls the pace and you have to do things you don’t want to do to maybe win.

Any character that can go nuts in the air like Akuma, Viper, Seth, Fuerte, Yun was always problems for her.

Nah, they got her back years ago. SFxT Chun is top 5.

You’d know that if anybody actually played SFxT. :frowning:

CVS2 is the real crossover game that still plays like SF. XTekken was kusoge until they fixed it a year later but too late.

I don’t think Bonchan will main him. He’s very close to being a strong character, very close. I think though Karin is a better pick.

It’ll be interesting to see what 4.5 brings. At this point I’m not even sure what to buff on him, he’s almost perfectly designed.

Perhaps canon being two bar and maybe dash up after TU. Can’t really think of anything that’s not crazy. St.mk down a frame or two maybe…

Yeah that’s the problem. In order to make him good you’d have to make him too good. Unfortunately Sagat players are honest and don’t want what it takes to be good in this game.

With that said, he is official counter pick status now and will help Karin nicely in those matchup where she doesn’t like being outranged. Karin is good but Birdie, Gief, Abi and the long range grab gang still problems for her.

Back walk speed buff would be strong or knee being plus. They won’t touch the knees, cause they’ve not touched Saks tatsu. Seems to be a lock in design.

Yeah offensive meterless specials (on block) is not really much of a thing in this game. The game is more like 3S in a sense where if you want your turn after a blocked special move you gotta burn EX. That’s why Bison is so strong because he has normals that have the power of EX special moves as far as boxes and frame data. Some characters have to burn EX to get kind of the power that he does in his meterless buttons.

SFV is getting some weird bugs.
