LOL I was wondering what happened to Air. Another guy married to Roo man. His Poison was fun to watch also. If Air is coming back then Roo must be back.
I like how Ryu can die so hard that counter hit c.MP to Ultra won’t get discovered for 2 or more years. Nerfing Ryu nerfs Ryu player’s lives.
Man that reminds me of a Ken player I met at my very first tourney back in 2010. The guy was telling me that he was the first person to discover Ken’s CH cl. MK into Ultra. I brought a camera along to film my first tourney matches for fun so I filmed him attempting to do this. Without input buffer it was really hard to do and he wasn’t able to pull it off after dozens of attempts. It was still a fun time though.
This was way back when frame data wasn’t widely available. So when people discovered stuff themselves, a lot of them would upload it and claim they were the first lol. Hell, I got some credit for discovering Evil Ryu tech for no reason other than probably me being the first person to upload some of my ideas that others were probably doing for a good while already.
He’s gotta find a new character to steal away glory from other players and let the world know just how much better he is than they are cause Zeku just didn’t work out.
I’m with Evil Canadian. The energy he spent bitching was energy he wasted to hone his skills. You can’t bitch that much and not lose something from it.
Plus compounded with lots of newer, younger competition. Being top in 2018 is harder than being top in 2003 and it wasn’t easy then.
Sanford should’ve never wasted so much time trying to play SFV to begin with. He clearly hates the game and forcing himself to play it has only make him more jaded about fighting games in general. Sometimes there are games that just aren’t for you. Nothing wrong with that. That’s something he understood when it came to MVC3. Now things are different because there isn’t a SF for him to fall back on. I know he dabbled in Tekken for a bit, but that’s about all.
Anyway, Sanford has “quit” fighting games a ton of times, only to return once he started feeling good again. This doesn’t mean much.
In order for this to be true, you would have to actually have won something somewhere sometime against very good players, like Sanford has.
My apologies if you have actually done this, but afaik you are a never was, not even a has been.
How’s that for savage? In before dime is a never was, also. It’s true. Can’t hide from it but it’s weird to shit on players who’s level you can only dream of, BECAUSE they are famous or were once decent. You seem to have something against people that are FGC famous for various reasons.
I only have a problem with this because I have a problem with haters and jealous people, in general.
To me, the frustrating part about Sanford is that the POTENTIAL is there, clearly. Aside from just being an MvC2 God he was very, very good at the start of SF4’s life (Top 4 at Evo 2009!) and for a while after that, but for whatever reason he began to slide and slide until he was losing to DJ players at regional events. It ain’t for lack of talent, clearly, so you have to wonder what changed in his mindset for him to not adapt over time.
And I think it’s very hard to ignore his relationship with EMP when wondering about that. Even after so many of his contemporaries moved on, even in the NY area, Sanford stayed close with Triforce and co. for years and years, and if you’ve ever heard Triforce and his ilk talk how to compete in games it’s utter nonsense. If your head is being poisoned with that, then it’s no wonder why his results dried up the way they did.
Add on top of that all the crying on Twitter and elsewhere about how no games serves his skills and that everything sucks, bla bla bla, and while I feel bad that he was arguably as good as all his contemporaries and could have had the same success, you have to wonder how much of the blame he’s gotta take for himself
So, after having played chun all of 2 games, I feel like she has been buffed to being decent:
Now has a decent CC combo that does around 300 damage without needing to be in v trigger or use a move that has more than 10 frames of startup or doesn’t hit crouchers etc.
Her ex reversal got an incredibuff and now it hits for nearly full damage, whereas before it hit against aerial opponents for like 10 damage, 80% of the time. This is huge because people like to try and crossup Chun because of her st.lk AA and her ex reversal eats crossup, but usually only for 10 damage. That has been changed.
These 2 buffs alone make her much better and fix 2 of her more glaring issues.
One of my favourite Sanford matches from back in the day. Scrappy game, but check the pace of it. Kids wouldn’t be able to handle this pace it’s like SF5 on speed X 2.5 lol.
Yeah man, that’s the effect I was going for. I love watching those grimey CVS2 videos, recorded with a handheld camera. It just has a ceertain warmth to it.
