The thing that makes me worried about SFV is the lack of stating what’s happening right now.
It’s like they’re waiting to see the statistics from the week-long F2P to determine the next phase of the game.
I don’t think they’re just taking a break for Christmas. I simply think they don’t have a damn clue what’s happening next and they’re trying to figure it out.
I think the only reason we got Kage was to hold us off until they do.
I’m just going to keep my expectations low. As long as people are playing online, I’ll play SFV… At least until April 23rd.
This discussion is actually one of my biggest disappointments about SFV; VTs just ended up being Ultra 2.0 instead of an additional resource you really build by making different decisions.
I think the game would’ve been better if they cut the meter from damage by like 75% and changed VS to be way better at building meter while keeping CC’s as is. In fact I would’ve expanded the crush counters building meter to all counter hits (scaled by damage of course).
With the system they have now VTs are mostly built by damage and the meter VS builds doesn’t even matter for a lot of characters.
Whoever said Kage is boring is really wrong. O don’t normally play V like that, but I’ve been labbing him up everyday since release. The character is really interesting like S2 Akuma, when he was first released. Anybody thinking of buying him, he’s definitely worth the purchase. Oh, that EX Hadoken is gonna bring so much salt.
I believe Akuma’s VT1 is 3 bars. But more v-meter built by v-skill doesn’t mean v-triggers would come out of thin air. It would be the result of the same interactions as before, but more so including the v-skills which is something you can control while being granted crush counters or taking a beating on the other hand are arguably not.
Looks like Oni 2.0 to me, some strong stuff + a lot of gimmicks to rob people online. People invoked balance, but when a character with a ton of BS pops up, everyone lost their minds.
I’m general SFV feels like a SF where everyone don’t have to be ‘strong’, no surprise almost all the returning cast have their worst version to date here.
Ryu was Top Tier in SF2.
Ken was Top Tier in SF3
