SFV Lounge: Menat BUFFED, F2P SFV coming, CCCC COMBO BREAKERS coming

The thing that makes me worried about SFV is the lack of stating what’s happening right now.

It’s like they’re waiting to see the statistics from the week-long F2P to determine the next phase of the game.

I don’t think they’re just taking a break for Christmas. I simply think they don’t have a damn clue what’s happening next and they’re trying to figure it out.

I think the only reason we got Kage was to hold us off until they do.

I’m just going to keep my expectations low. As long as people are playing online, I’ll play SFV… At least until April 23rd.

Sounds like the Yun mirror

This discussion is actually one of my biggest disappointments about SFV; VTs just ended up being Ultra 2.0 instead of an additional resource you really build by making different decisions.

I think the game would’ve been better if they cut the meter from damage by like 75% and changed VS to be way better at building meter while keeping CC’s as is. In fact I would’ve expanded the crush counters building meter to all counter hits (scaled by damage of course).

With the system they have now VTs are mostly built by damage and the meter VS builds doesn’t even matter for a lot of characters.

He actually has a pretty solid Vmeter building Vskill too.

I remember here and on that EH site how much people were thrilled about getting another shoto clone.

Stop.

Whoever said Kage is boring is really wrong. O don’t normally play V like that, but I’ve been labbing him up everyday since release. The character is really interesting like S2 Akuma, when he was first released. Anybody thinking of buying him, he’s definitely worth the purchase. Oh, that EX Hadoken is gonna bring so much salt.

Kage’s fun but I cannot stand that super mega edgelord design so I won’t be using him

Sticking with good boy Ken

I believe Akuma’s VT1 is 3 bars. But more v-meter built by v-skill doesn’t mean v-triggers would come out of thin air. It would be the result of the same interactions as before, but more so including the v-skills which is something you can control while being granted crush counters or taking a beating on the other hand are arguably not.

You buy me Kage on PC and we’ll call it even.

^This x1000

Looks like Oni 2.0 to me, some strong stuff + a lot of gimmicks to rob people online. People invoked balance, but when a character with a ton of BS pops up, everyone lost their minds.

I’m general SFV feels like a SF where everyone don’t have to be ‘strong’, no surprise almost all the returning cast have their worst version to date here.

Its literally the manifestation of all negative energy inside of Ryu. What the fuck is he supposed be like?

Its not a try hard. Its the the type of character that is supposed to be that way.

he’s saying that he doesn’t like that kind of character not that Kage should be a boyscout

Daigo is actually excited and confident to play Ryu. Do you guys think his buffs are significant enough to warrant that?

Daigo is first and formest one thing, a Tier Whore.
If Ryu isn’t Top Tier he won’t play him.

Eh, Ryu was… okay in AE2012. Daigo still played him.

It should also be noted that Ryu actually feels like Ryu for the first time in SFV now. The fireball buffs are a big deal for how fun he is to play.

Daigo has books to sell. No one is gonna buy “The Will To Do Okay, I Guess”

Ryu was Top Tier in SF2.
Ken was Top Tier in SF3
Akuma was Top Tier in Alpha 3
Ryu was Top Tier in Vanilla, guess who Daigo played.
Hey Guile was Top in Super, guess who Daigo played.
He played Yun in AE.
Daigo though Ryu was Top in AE2012
And he played E.Ryu in Ultra.
Ryu in Season 1 SFV.
Guile since then.

Thats a pretty clean Top Tier record.

He also played Guile in earlier versions of SF2, and generally plays the strongest shoto in whatever game he plays.

It’s almost like he tends to like Guile and shotos, and those are characters that tend to do well in SF-games.

Oh, and didn’t he main Ryu in SSF4 too? I know he counterpicked Fei Long a few times with Guile, but I’m pretty certain his 2010 EVO win was with Ryu.

Thats the thing though. It isnt an edgelord design; he has very valid reasons to be that way.

Thats like complaining that the design of a video game level depicting Hell has fire in it.
