GG’s @Akhos Those hrs went by fast.
If I wasn’t getting tired, I would’ve played more sets. We should play again sometime.

You good, fam. You gave me hrs of matches. That’s really all that matters.
If I’m around later tonight I’ll look for you again. I was gonna ask to play but figured you were doing long set. I’ll look for Pertho tomorrow also if I’m around. Hopefully connection won’t be too dodgy but I’m playing a character that doesn’t have an overhead or command grab either way.
How you are adjusting with the corner oki changes? I remember watching some of psk’s matches and he seems to just make sure he does as much mid screen shenanigans as he can (EX dive kick on hit into jab reset 50/50)
What’s the best way to deal with neutral jumps just outside of DP range? They have been giving me problems.
This Guile was using neutral jump HK to check my dash and flip kick. The things I was trying to counter with were trading a lot.
To be honest, I’m still getting accustomed to the changes. I haven’t labbed enough corner situations as much as I should’ve. Getting things started mid-screen is definitely a good idea.
Yeah, but still wish I was able to offer more on the match-up knowledge side of things I guess. Feels more fun if I feel like the other person is learning as much as I am, but that’s my problem XP
At least I learned my twitch reactions are still my worst problem, I see something and my instinctive reaction is the wrong one 99% of the time. I’ll see Cammy take to the sky and immediately walk forward to walk under the cross-up like against every other character and just get hit by the dive kick, or I won’t block Cammy’s corner cross-up 'cause it doesn’t look like one, or I’ll cr.hp when you go airborne 'cause I start twitching to dive kicks…
Even after 4 straight hours I can’t get myself to stop that nonsense
I mean, I guess I should be glad I was still able to make a lot of the matches reasonably close and even take a few, but…falling for the same stuff for the entirety of the sets stands out way more XD
The best answer is different per character. I realized this used to actually be a problem for my Ibuki, but with Falke I just hit 2 buttons and it’s never a problem. They have to have a dive kick or some other trajectory changing thing to make neutral jumps even barely a threat.
With Juri your best option is just to use LK fireball. Especially with the extra active frames you can just throw it out and if he hits a neutral jump button he can’t land without getting hit by the fireball. If he blocks it you’re most likely at frame advantage.
Essentially a person neutral jumping right around sweep range is just giving you free LK stores and releases so if that’s what they wanna do then just store up and release. With the extra active frames on LK fireball you can just throw it out there and walk/dash up. If they stay on the ground you get pressure and if they neutral jump it’s a free walk/dash up DP.
Also once you have V Trigger you can make this cheaper by whiffing lk fireball and activating and see what he does.
Oh and liked that one round where he was sitting on 3 V bars and didn’t V Reversal your ryodansatsu to super cancel. That’s definitely a lower rank thing to kill yourself by taking a super chip kill when you have a v reversal. You definitely have to go up higher in ranks before people really use the v reversal system correctly.
Juri can use st.hp* or st.mk
That makes sense. I should have focused on positional advantage over going for damage. Those trades where adding up.
Yeah, you can get away with murder down here. I looked at his inputs to see what he was doing, and he tried to super after the ryodansatsu.
GentlemanThief did a real good job using LK fireball to force neutral jumps vs Punk in a match I remembered where he had walk dash up DP ready once he neutral jumped or just made him fall into the fireball. Juri basically has neutral setups that punish the opponent for neutral jumping.
The Guile player also never popped V Trigger which is weird as shit. If you’re at Super Plat and don’t use V Trigger then I dunno.
Nah. Gotta abide by the rules. Take buffs elsewhere if necessary. Robbery of that level is 3 bars all day.
Right now when he activates vtrigger he should pull out a Hamburglar costume with his pipe.
Oh i got a ton of matches too. I gotta look it up and add all my smurfs. Its wierd because i play in spurts. Like that first year i went ham. Then year 2 didnt play much. Then I had like 6 months away this year but im back playing again. I’ve been in top 3000 players a few times but i always quit ranked.
Main- 8304
3629 ranked
2881 casual
1794 lounge
16343lp with my last match played on November 10th
Secondary-2040
1156 ranked
689 casual
195 lounge
13575lp
Then i got a smurf with like 500 ranked matches in super plat. So like 10k or so matches with half in ranked
Urien with a 4 frame dash is really good.
This netcode sometimes.
My heart
This game is weird sometimes.
Play a Nash in ranked and win 0-2. He comes at me angry with a message that says first to five and to not use any anti-airs or trigger. That was a bunch of shit talking between the two of us, but I accepted it. The set goes 5-4 in his favor and instead of more taunting, he actually respected my playing. Turns out he was just frustrated about how Nash has been in the game. Pretty sure we are friends now since we messaged each other for a hour and are planning a set for tomorrow.
This game is weird.
No anti airs? Wtf
Yeah, I didn’t get it either. Does Nash have bad anti-airs or something? Don’t know a lot about him. Surprised how far I did get without them, but it was fun.
So basically you outfootsies his jumpins and moonsault? Ok then.
I wouldn’t know how to do shit without AA.
Like asking me to play a guitar with my nutsack.
