If one person can get it consistently on laggy SF5 netcode, then this thing is just silly busted. You basically wait til you have super bar and then your opponent can’t do anything.
Seems to be about as practical as roll canceling too. So w/e silliness DevilJin is saying is probably some trolling ass bullshit.

No need to reply if anybody was considering it. I just don’t have the passion or the internet connection to care. Buying PSN for 1 month was definitely a waste of time. I need to stick to offline/RPG games only.
There is no counterplay though. Also, are you really going to be able to stop Blanka from ever getting 3 bars? This isn’t ST where you can reliably kill someone before they get super, and the super resets between rounds. And you have a reverse for defense which doesn’t use bar, and not to mention that tons of characters have no real reversal in this game.
Right now it’s the execution hurdle that is keeping it in check. Execution hurdles always fall eventually. Once they do it’s basically just a ticking clock every match until it’s game over.
Argument is moot anyways because it’s getting patched.

I remember reading somewhere that the main reason Dhalsim wasn’t played much in MvC2 was not related to character strength, but rather that his execution demands were absurd even for by MvC2 standards. How accurate is that?
He looks pretty ridiculous from that video.
The few Sim teams I usually came across were hella hard to fight against.
Same with the few Anarkaris teams.

So so. Sim being is the hypothetical 5th God tier character in the game. A lot of his stuff is super hard but the payouts aren’t the greatest. Also I don’t think he has a safe DHC (yoga flame super may be it but I don’t personally know). His assists are also kind of okayish; Magneto doesn’t have the most useful assists but still has some marginal uses.
The God 4 (Sentinel/Storm, Magneto, Cable in that order in the tiers) are all the best at doing some part of the game. Sim can do a lot of their gameplans but not in the best way. Say you play Matrix (Storm/Sentinel/Cyclops) and you switch to Sim/Sentinel/Cyclops. Sure you’re going to get some cool sim stuff, but you also lose the Storm/Sentinel DHC which basically kills most characters at 80% or less life, you lose hailstorm chip damage and screen control, you don’t have storm to build meter with and a bunch of other storm benefits.
If magneto gets a hit on you, he has an easier time killing you with resets (because some of Mags damage is hilariously high), can punish double snapback easier, on point he has control of the stand off because of his 1 frame jab, no good DHC so you don’t lose much after you tag away from him.
Sim isn’t going to unload 5 bars into somebody like Sent and Cable can to kill them either.
Sim is a character with a lot of tools but doesn’t necessarily do things better in a way to warrant putting up with the execution. Meantime, have some more cool Sim vids:
Fun historical fact: Before the age of twitter, DJ-B13 would release tech vids for characters. They weren’t as comprehensive but you got hella info in them. I wanna say he did vids for a lot of the cast in CvS2. You youngings are slackers by comparison.
