granted, but there is an undeniable huge amount of complaints about the game that to me clearly shows it’s not as liked as others were in the past.
Again, I cannot stress this enough, still a pretty good game.

I mean truth be told I don’t even like most of the characters listed. I just tried to give the roster some decent variety from all the different games, who was absent in 5, where Capcom will presumably take the story, etc. For example other than the first 4 I tried to avoid having characters be in 3 mainline games in a row, which i limited to only Sagat and Juri (the latter of which I’m tempted to replace).
You’re misunderstanding, I did not say other games did not get scrutiny, I am saying SFV seems to be more widespread… Except EX I guess, did not really count it since it’s an Arika game, I loved EX plus alpha and it has great music.
yeah doesn’t seem to work in KoF, even TK for QCF moves in the air works poorly.
oh you didn’r notice, it’s a 214 motion in the air, so it would be 32149 like Kage’s instant air tatsu or cammy instant air divekick, either way, doesn’t seem possible in KoFXIV, belive me I tried.
I find the consistent attempts by some users here such as Cipher, in an SF5 lounge, to proselytize players away from the game to be disheartening.
Without the ignore feature available in the new forums, and the moderation clearly turning a blind eye, those who enjoy playing the game, or at the very least actually play the game have to end up day in and day out sifting through their bullshit. This takes away from the purpose and enjoyment of this subforum.
I don’t see SF5 players taking dumps on other subforums and trying to make their players abandon their game. What’s happening here isn’t on the same level as disagreement or debate, this is just 100% low-level trolling and baiting.

I loved EX too, doin the secret code to get E.Ryu. The flack newer titles catch is interpreted as a wider issue because the community has a platform to route all negative feedback to - steam reviews, multiple journalism outlets reporting on these things, capcoms own forums, these forums, social media.
How the fuck are we supposed to know every bit of backlash older titles got when we didn’t have places to facilitate it in a wider capacity?
It’s an effect of evolving times, not due to a vast difference in opinion. But that’s my take on it. V catches just as much flak as the older games, you’re just hyperaware of it because it’s much more visible given the influence of the internet and evolving social media presence.

Did you miss IVs lifespan? Complaints about netcode, Ultras release, infinites from vanilla, imbalances, people disliking FADCs impact on reversals. I remember that people really didn’t like the influence of OS tech on IVs meta too.
It caught a looooot of backlash, hell even IV vanilla was considered an unfinished product lmao.
IV online was such a joke that it was literally a different environment. In V a decent connection can play similarly to an offline match, in IV? If you had to make a consistent 1f punish online to stop someone abusing a tool - then RIP you.

I saw IV player come around the whole time to shit on other games.
Heck even had one in the BB Forums who was just there to tell that they play a game that takes no skill and they should rather play SFIV.
