Edit: good work on the DoA6 primer btw. I have one question, what does a “break hold” do? You mentioned it as the only option out of a fatal stun but didn’t elaborate.
aren’t all SF characters just satire on racial character tropes, T.Hawks is one of the non-insulting ones. Big ass strong dude, loves a bit of nature, don’t fuck with his girlfriend.

Break hold = omega counter. For half your super bar you automatically counter all possible attacks, but it does not damage. Its the only way you are allowed to counter if you are in fatal stun.

Same and it’s interesting how that works. Like I can feel instantly when I can beat a player that’s higher ranked than me yet I can still lose to a Platinum Guileor even Uriens. There’s this certain level of neutral that can carry a solid player up the ranks since they play a very risk averse style outside of when they may have to make a big read. This is how I play, It’s also a reason why I get bodied by more unpredictable players because I play them game I think I should be playing then over extend and lose it all.

I plateaued at Ultra Gold with Cammy. It took from from the day the game launched to December that year and by then I had had enough of the bullshit. I loved Cammy but it was just some grime I was missing that made me feel like I wasn’t playing SFV at full blast. That was on top of the fact that she lived and died by being solid on the ground that not even S1 EX Dive Kick derp could save me.
I feel like this is a trend with allot of former Cammy players. I know allot of them (who I’ve met via Twitch) that said they dropped Cammy for Kolin [Insert other waifu] and shot up the ranks. And the funny thing with Cammy is that she’s still more solid fundamentally than most of the other females but the low health plus stun plus linear game play makes people drop her.
Yep I’ll never go back to Cammy full time in this game. Also Kolin’s air throw animation doesn’t look like Ed Boons wet dream so that’s a plus.

Street fighter is not a bad game, it’s just that pretty much every competitor is better
BUT
is important to notice that all the fighting games that you and I consider better are just improving on their past, while SF always try to change the gameplay, this time they missed the mark, but it’s how SF works, every new game it’s different from the old ones.
II - III - alpha - IV - and V are very different games.
God if it’s the gun girl I’m dropping Kolin so fucking fast you’d think I was a mad lad. I want EX gun to be at leeeeeeast +8 on block at least.

SFV had 16 characters at launch with 5 characters each season right?
First 16: Ryu, Ken, Chun, Zangief (the 4 who should be in every game imo)
Makoto, Gill, Alex, Viper,
Juri, Rose, Kolin, Laura
