If Gouken came back do you think he should have a more traditional shoto design or keep him very similar to the way he is in SF4? I just remember being very disappointed with Gouken at first because I thought he was suppose to be like the ultimate shoto, but then he ended up playing nothing like one. It took me a while to understand his gameplan.
If he came back I’d like to see him have a similar design to his SF4 self but have a traditional DP instead of his EX tatsu being that move.
Lorewise he is the ultimate “shoto”. I think if he does make it in,Capcom will try and implement the “power of nothingness” into his gameplay.
I said in some past times that i think this will be some sort of defensive skill that will give him some sort of super armor / parry / reduced damage taken, since he uses it to BLOCK Akuma’s demon with no issues in the story.
Gameplay wise he will stay similar i think, crazy damage but the need to land big hits.Maybe some different juggle variations off his palm rush. Maybe different followups off his backthrow.
One thing’s for sure though i really want his counter to return, as i freakyn loved to use that thing in SF4.NOTHING was more satisfying for me to watch and do then Gouken’s counter parry into his super.
Gouken wasn’t great, but I found him extremely annoying to fight. Gouken players would mash counter, do the DF parry to bait out DP’s, use the palm to get around my fireball(I play Evil Ryu). It’s like he was another Nash type character. Not made to be good, just made to be a headache for other character archetypes lol.
Gouken suffered vs vortex / rushdown quite a lot but he was a powerhouse when it comes to damage.
If he had his zoning on point you basically had to walk through a minfield to even get close to him. EX tatsu was a fantastic anti air and good damage that put you all the way back full screen.Parry could be baited but you did have to respect it once in a while.
And if the old man touched you once and had 1 bar, goodbye around 35% at least.
He had flaws, but i really enjoyed him as a character and i wish he will return.
I think a SFV version of him could be very good. He already has a pretty nice moveset to work with and should have a good fireball but not ultra slow walk speed like Guile or Nash. If nothing else he should have everyone’s favorite move, EX DF(with a +2 on block slide lol).
Gouken was an unique kind of shoto, he deserved to be in the game before many others imo.
Makoto and Q are the only top 10 characters of the Capcom Poll not in the game right now, we have already Q, so… Would be questioning not including her at this point, but everything is possible. More playtime with her, the better, but I would happy to play her in V asap. I’ve reached my patience limit with SFV today, the game needs something in general, Makoto is just a selfish request of mine. Capgods plz
Would be too smart to include the most wanted waifus at once in a season, sadly I can’t see Capcom move from their 4 dicks +2 chicks format even because Season Pass price & contents.
Zeku, but I dunno if keep playing him even next season. The character is swag, but the work on him right now looks stupid when at least the upper half of the roster does better with less efforts. Controlling 2 characters at one time is already challenging to some degree, but in general Zeku has too many holes in his game atm. You can’t even go full unga mode because he’s too honest. SF4 was a different game, but Guy there looks OP compared to him, that say something.
