SFV Lounge: Lupe please comeback! DevilJin moving to Mortal Kombat 11

I literally just linked a vid on defense. Go to 19 minutes into the vid, then practice that stuff.

I mean if you mentioned neutral I’d say it was bad, people have strong neutral but the majority are weak. Having landslide strength in chatacter kits is bad.

Offense in V is good because the defensive options are so commital.

I’d improve it by making another game.

I started with 3S so teching throws was generally a bad thing and you just took throws. Which is why I usually just take throws in V. Tech back up and stand your ground again. Unless you get thrown into the corner then it’s problems.

Quick breakdown is two things.

  1. If someone knocks you down and is about to meaty you can you can block and then immediately hit tech a few frames after you would have blocked something. You’ll either block the meaty or tech the grab. Mainly because the throw window is long enough that you can slightly delay your throw input by some frames and still tech a grab.

  2. If someone is forcing you to block buttons that they can tech after, you can similarly tech a bit after you are in block stun and that’ll cover them trying to walk up and throw due to the long throw tech window. Better players know how to mix shit up so you can’t abuse this too much (if you’re not in block stun and try this you will get hit). Especially if you’re fighting a Cammy you have to be careful of late teching too many of her s.LK’s or else you will eventually tech when you’re not in block stun for one and get counter hit comboed.

Against shimmies you’re better off looking for them shimmying and then hitting a button at them before they finish the shimmy. Gets you back into the offensive and forces them to think harder about how long they should shimmy.

So are you gonna answer the question and provide some solutions or just continue to whine like a bitch? I was genuinely curious to see what you’d change.

If it’s really that bad then play something else until that new SF game with the better defensive options drops.

Also what is wrong with having to commit to a defensive option? If I’ve got my back to the wall and find myself in a mixup why should I be able to defend without a hard call when I obviously fucked up at some point.

It is bad, because if you have to commit something and it fails, it’s your fault that it happend.
This in itself is a bad design, I should never have to commit to something, on defence I should always have tools to shut the opponents offence completly down without having to risk anything.

Bring back DP Fadc for the true SF feel!

T7 now has a grand finals between the arguably best and worst charcacter in the game.

When will that happen in SF?

I wasn’t whining, I corrected you by saying defence was weak. I don’t care if it’s bad.

Doesn’t really happen in most SF/Capcom fighters or 2d fighters in general. They revolve around very different types of neutral and tech than 3d fighters do.

Like you’re never going to see low vs high tier for Marvel 2/3 at Evo because the spacings and tech that require top tiers to work in those games is quite particular. Especially with meters and assists involved. Just no way you can stack a build of characters from the low tier and they’ll equal up to anything of the top.

In Tekken and other 3d fighters it’s more common becuase even the worst character still have 10 frame jab, 13/14 frame launcher, side steps, juggle combos to wall that do half life and so on. In Tekken they do small things different from each other but generally you’re up close throwing those types of things around whether you’re low or high tier. You’re not going to have any crazy outlier characters like SFIV Elena or SFV Guile or Menat that have ranged tools and meter capabilities that run far outside what most of the other cast can do.

I’d say sfv bottom 7 can’t make it to grand finals, but every other character has a chance.

Juri won EVO Japan

I bet you there’s a few people that play Kuma that are cheering for Panda as well. Basically a dual character victory. We had a local guy who always used Kuma and I would assume it was because Kuma looks manlier. Animu kawaii people use Panda.

hmm the winner ceremony was kinda strange and felt cut off as if they forgot to mention the rest of the top8

Bruh competitive Tekken is so fucking sick.

Every weekend there’s something hype happening, every tournament is full of highlights and amazing matches, and it’s also one of the only current games where even pools are entertaining to watch

A Panda player taking it all for the TWT finale is just… I mean you can’t possibly write a better story here

Here’s to another amazing year with TWT 2019

P.S. 13 days until Capcom Cup btw!

Bruh stop making sensible posts and and let me trashtalk SFV in peace.

I mean, Panda just won the equivalent of Capcom Cup. That’s the first time, in ANY Tekken, a Bear-player has won a fairly large tournament.

Also my girlfriend was cheering for the cute bear so I got to watch Tekken with her. Her enthusiasm was adorable.

we had Infiltration’s Juri beating 3 of the best Rashids in the world at the manila major, and beating Jhon Takeuchi’s Rashid at EVO Japan GFs.
Zeku won a major too
