Yeah I just got done watching your S4 round up video, I just think that outside of the applications, the actual timing that Sagat can get it online is always going to be a dealbreaker. 3 bars into his archetype just feels like it’s going to be coming online when it’s already too late.

To add on to what Frost said Sagat sucks too bad at building V Gauge for that shit. Falke already built v gauge better than him before and now that they’ve fixed her V Skill she’s definitely going to be better at that feat with two, 2 bar triggers. s.HK/f+HK can’t hit crouchers from general neutral ranges so it limits the type of moves and characters he can reliably CC with it. You’ll catch lots of CC f+HK’s vs scrubs, but vs better players not gonna just happen. His other CC buttons are still not good/overly situational.

As for the setup itself, I’d be a bit more impressed if you could use a different button than s.HP to cancel into the shot. s.HP has enough animation that it’d probably be not too difficult to see and just v reversal before the shot comes out. The setup is legit if they don’t have a v reversal though.

Overall though just doesn’t feel enough when Tiger Cannon should have been plus 2 on block from day one. I remember the first time I heard about the move I was like “for 3 bars this should be like plus 2, not minus 2”. It’s there now, but not with much else and a character that’s still not great at building v gauge.

Plus not one buff to angry charge? I guess.

I was kinda hoping they’d buff his DP damage values so that they gradually dealt more throughout the versions. HP dealing 20 more, MP dealing 10 more etc

Ok. I didn’t test it without backrise so I assumed it’s a throw type of KD, that just doesn’t allow backrise.

You can use any button there, I just picked that one at the time as I was trying to see if I could get both rises. It’s a manual button there, I’d think he’s probably like plus 15 there after the ex knee.

Also after the cannon you can just throw.

Yeah I wanted to see a different button than s.HP because s.HP would be pretty easy to eye and v reversal before he’d have any chance to throw. You’d be able to v reversal well before the shot recovery finishes.

Still meh trigger overall IMO (partly because of how Sagat works also), but the setups and pressure during the short time you can use it should be better. It’s at least more fun and more fun is always more fun.

Still a big step up from the frequent discord channel errors. They’ve finally fixed the reply button glitch on mobile so it’s pretty easy breezy on here otherwise.

Even Preppy talked about how easy this place is to manage.

I think vs 4 frame characters it’s quite threatening as you can st.mp after the canon. 3 frame though you gotta st.jab which makes it not as good.

Well at least s.LP is plus 4 so you have a unique frame advantage value there.

You do but you can’t hit confirm a jab between a block and a hit unless you are tokidogachikun. With mp hit stun you can visualise the hit or continue on the block string.

That’s why it’s prolly better to go straight to the throw from the blocked canon against 3 framers.

Yeah plus if they’re in the corner that’s the one place Sagat has real pressure any way. Should be able to come up with some stuff.

One thing I’ve been theory fighting, is that potentially Sagat can now AA falke more reliably with HP Dp have air Inv. Might even trade in Sagats favour.

I’ve not tested yet though.

Yeah I think that’ll be almost a given. Already figured they did that to help him vs characters like her.

She can already throw off most of his shot game with prone shot though, so the possible change to his low shot might be a bigger deal than the AA on her jump shit. Sagat was already pretty able to AA a Falke that gets too jumpy.

If Falke is playing the matchup right then Sagat should be forced to jump and she just gets her free AF AAs. Plus 2 on block stand shot means she can force neutral on the ground vs him harder than before.

I know this won’t happen but I’d really love it if they made one of Kage’s fireballs go mid range and increased the recovery by 6-8f’s for the next balance patch before CPT begins. It’d really help his game and make him a more legitimate zoner and not rely on yolo V skills to compete with stronger footsie/fireball characters. But I don’t think Capcom wants that for this character.

duhhhh i dont have access to my sheet where i wrote everything down right now but iirc its just misogi, whiff st.jab, then TK ex tatsu for instant crossup. Even without CH it will be +4 on hit cause its meaty.

I’ve not played him, but I hope they don’t do that because then he just becomes the ultimate shoto.

I think they’ve done well with him, he had the potential to delete the other shotos.
