SFV lounge: London we have a Problem X. SFV gave us the Burger King again

It’s sad that Krone act like an asshole too often, because he’s very insightful during his streaming, talking about Zeku ins & outs giving also tips on the matchup he’s playing. Sometimes he gets too salty and sometimes he giving props to his opponent. Probably he isn’t used to socialize with people the right way.

If Zeku is shit, I’m shit. No way he should landing stupid amounts of damage and stun every time he touches me.

He really isn’t, he’s just honest, you have to work your ass a lot to get that W. Mind that, we have 28 characters now including Zeku, but instead of just learning 27 of those you have to practically learn 54. Atm I’m start respecting Old Zeku more than I’m used to, with the right spacing on point he’s really good.

Yeah, his damage/stun output is really underrated and it becomes better after 3.5 update. Let Zeku doing his things could be deadly, especially if he has meter.

I’m betting most, if not all, of the season 3 characters get buffed. Some might be left in the dirt but I think most will get some good stuff. This is a theory based on what’s happened so far. Capcom seems to want to strengthen characters from the previous season in order to “showcase” them for the next season. Either that or they’re reacting to everybody crying.

After season 1 ended - Balrog, Guile, Urien, Ibuki got buffed and they were already pretty good on launch. Last season Akuma, Abigail, Kolin, Menat all got buffed (now they did nerf Abi and Kolin a bit with the 3.5 patch but they’re still good).

So my theory is - pick up a character from this season, chances are they’ll probably get buffed. And if you learn the character at their weakest it’ll get that much easier next season.

Its all three actually:

  1. You’re missing something.
  2. He is shit.
  3. You’re shit too.

You’re gonna get that work regardless though.

That shit came out in 06, long after arcades were actually dead in 99% of places in north america. Aint nobody played that shit.

Worked out for me so far. Figured Ibuki was getting slept on Season 1, she was my main any way so ride it out and then Season 2 buffed into the tops of tiers.

Falke does a good job slowing down some of the momentum of the top tiers and works as a good anti meta character. She just in typical zoner honest zoner character fashion, doesn’t have a cheap enough comeback potential and corner trap game to put her up there with Guile and Menat. I’m banking on they give her some silly new plus options on some of her buttons and hopefully make her VT2 viable (or make VT1 4 shots lol) and she could be up there. If she had stronger offense she wouldn’t have to worry so much about losing life lead to characters that have body hurling moves that go under her air shit like boxer, bison, fang, young zeku, and so on.

I don’t see them buffing her fireballs much since she works well as the opposite of Sagat in ranged game. Sagat has honest long ranged buttons that mostly don’t hit crouchers in favor of oppressive shots. She has more honest, angle specific shots which trades for oppressive heavy buttons that zone people from a long range and can convert to big damage.

Luckily the top 5 are mostly comprised of characters that have really unsafe/readable body hurl moves or dont have any at all so that fits into Falke being able to bully them. Get some better options vs those fast ground characters and she’ll be past counter pick tier.

Sc3 was trash. Get yo bum ass out the dumpster, the place I threw my sc3 game after 2 weeks of play.

Parry advantage was shit, 8wr evasion was shit. This is like if streetfighter made low attacks have no range and only combo into projectiles from like point blank or so, or made throws have no range and put you out of throw range after 2 blocked jabs, or made jab combos non existent because baddies were tired of getting combod in the own blockstrings because they were shit andmade mistakes.

Oh wait…

Um, yeah.

Moving on, if the wiff punishment on parries in sc6 is now more punishable, that’s AWESOME!

I never liked it when people overly fished for parries anyways and parries are halfway just used kinda like reversals where people just do them to escape pressure or a very obvious cadence. Using them for all your defensive options was bad imo. Also, no high low parry anymore? Man that’s like Christmas come true. Now the GI battles will be like oldschool sc2 with slow and fast moves rather than the guys that just went for high fast or mid fast mixups post GI.

People that only use mid/low mixups for most of their offense irk me in SC, so seeing that get done away with to a certain extent is awesome.

Only thing I could wish for after that is that the game at highest level can be a bit overly turtly and non dynamic so I’d want some better form of throw system than what sc2 or tekken had.

Mid/low is the “true” form of mixup, but imho it’s a bit to easy to apply specially and too easy for the best players to react to, reactively, so it fails for me on both ends.

Soul Calibur 3 was always known as the cheap Soul Calibur (before arcade version). I think you’d have to like it the way people liked Marvel 1 or Marvel 3. Cheap, but fun if you find the thing in it fun. From what I heard red just GI was crazy strong in console 3.

My favorite is SC1 cuz big memories from Dreamcast days and it’s a game that still looks good to this day. Plus my favorite character is Maxi and he’s top tier.

I played some SC2 also. Was cool and retained a lot of what was fun about 1 with some new stuff. Still preferred the atmosphere of 1 over 2 and I don’t think Maxi was top tier in that one so that sucks.

SC3 was SC3. Played it a bit but I was already too heavy into playing 3S and later SFIV to care.

SC4 I just kinda laughed at how everyone bitched about Algol and Hilde. Didn’t care to play it.

SC5 heard it had 2d fighter mechanics. Ok cool. Everyone’s cousins and nephews are in it. Ok…yeah.

SC6 I’ll play just because they’re going for a reboot and it’s not a game where you have to learn a bunch of tech and long ass combos to get good at. Always liked how movement in SC is much more natural than in Tekken so can cut that crap out and just hit people with good buttons and sidestep their buttons. If Maxi is top tier I’m definitely in, but since Ivy is basically 3D Falke and looking good I’ll check her out also.

Nah I want lame 2 button Nightmare dominating this game.

SCV I picked the emo newcomer who turned out to be trash.

Maybe this time I’ll pick the emo newcomer and he’ll be good.

Characters with long weapons are usually the start for decent in SC, so at least you got that. Kilik winning Evo pre tourney is no surprise. Long ass weapon, but able to be aggressive and not too slow.

SC3 has some of the best costumes in the series.

Man of no taste.

This is why you only play aborigenes in SF5.

What about Ed and Zeku? They’re still honest after a season and the first still can’t connect his do consistently from cr.mk for save his life.

I played ezio in SCV and I’ll play Geralt in SCVI.

I’m just glad to have disjointed hitboxes in every game I’ll be playing

Praise be

Real foosies are the ones where you dont account for hurt boxes. Priority trade systems for those big heavy buttons works too if they give it to you.
