Thatâs the one thing I really liked about sfiv, character specialist. There was only one smug Dudley, one gamerbee adon, one bonchan sagat(Ryan Hart was up there too), one Xian gen, canât remember the el fuerte players name for some reason.
Itâs just funny how many eyes are on bonchan right now because of sagat

It sucks cuz if Sagat becomes anywhere near as good as Guile, all of a sudden people will start hating on him and this whole âthe king is backâ honeymoon will end. Then back to square one whining about how some character can press a low commitment normal, throw safe fireballs and protect the skies is annoying to fight. Unfortunately, thatâs made good SF characters for the last 20 something years.

Again Sagat is bad good, playing with him is more rewarding than playing other characters because when you win you won by playing streetfighter and less with coin flips for just pressing buttons in someones face and mixing up a command throw and frame traps.
He just has to play to perfectly to win⌠consistently. He canât go HAM ever, even when you like âYOU SUCK I"LL SHOW YOUâ all you can do is through those tiger shots a space better lol.
I said this before, heâs simple and straight forward but his ceiling is super high. Sagat is only as good as the player, and heâs like the only character in sf5 that represents that (second closest being ryu ironically enough). Every other character has something silly or strong gimmick even if the character actually isnât that great.
Theyâll be a handful of sagat players that make him look top tier and probably do well with him, but heâs not a top tier character over all in THIS game. He just has too much against him.
It would take much for him to be better, and feel more consistent. And I feel like capcom might make those changes in S4 along with whatever big patch they do.
G imo is a fun alex with faster normals.
I had this long ass response typed and then I realized that you stretched the goal post to make yourself sound good. Picked some awful examples to sound even cooler and that nobody was going to read that shit anyway.
So I donât know. Low tiers win some times, doesnât stop them from getting their shit pushed in constantly. Tier lists are also evolving, not frozen snap shots in time. Nobody is talking about them like they are set in stone, but some match ups wonât get better. Alex losing to Akuma in 3S and in SF5 has to do with the tools in play against each other. Nobody is making bullshit up for the hell of it.
If you wanted a good ST example, you wouldâve gone with O.Ryu instead of T.Hawk. But you posting meme to wave your dick. VDO cracks top 8 this one time but nobody counting all the times he gets wrecked. You couldâve brought up Team Z but you also wack. Team Z had one great game and then went on to lose that match. But talking about that team getting mollywhooped after putting on a show goes against your narrative so you didnât bring it up. Either that or your just spouting eventhub results to sound cool.
You probably are eventhubposting because literally nobody looks at tier lists as set in stone and immutable. Much less old asses. You got all of the old asses here giving a bunch of reasons why Sagat is gonna need time but youâre trying to lecture me on tech being discovered? Stay wack.

Neither. Gotta deal with some silliness tomorrow, some good friends of my wifeâs and I gave my daughter a stack of Dr. Seuss books today and life is pretty great in general.
People misuse tier lists all the time anyways. Calling them snapshots feels like an Eventhubs type of thing since they do those monthly tier lists. Meh, who cares.
We already have Ryu for the Ryu spot and Necalli doing stomp combos. Not sure what he actually adds to the game that we canât get from buffing Ryu.
Also, please watch a couple of these and complain about the commentary. That way our local guys can get better.

Fang vs Cody looks fun. That V Skill fireball becoming a hit box in VT1 for Fang is really nice. Gives him a horizontal fireball in the neutral to take up space he otherwise isnât allowed to.
G is going to be a character thatâs hard to place on a tier list. Kind of like Hakan in SF4 when oiled up/not oiled. Heâs either pretty low tier at presidentiality level 1 or top tier at level 3.

We donât want Evil Ryu for the same reason we donât want Melancholic Akuma, Gluttonous Cammy, Indecisive Guile or Promiscuous Abigail. If the developers think a certain character should have a gimmick, they ought to just create a new character from the ground up.

Yeah heâs getting hyped up on twitter because Sagat is too honest or whatever, but if any of these people were to actually play G for a while theyâd be complaining. The highs are high but the lows are low. Gâs issues are probably why I was able to make that comeback on Smug because if you drop a combo and lose your presidentiality you are pretty much taking every frame trap and pressure with only 4 frame lights and ok at best walk speed. With meh special moves that donât really have any scary properties.
The highs being high are probably good enough to keep him out of bottom 5 (along with his solid basic neutral) but heâs another character where when things go bad you only have super, v reversal or a v skill that has to be used preemtpively to get people away. With basic special moves that arenât very threatening and EX specials that are not EX kunai/EX sonic boom/EX cannon strike good.

Tough crowd here, I guess Iâm the lone guy here that does want Evil Ryu lol. I mainâd him immediately when he came out in AE and I never looked back. And even when I didnât understand anything about fighting games I loved using him in CvS and Alpha just because I liked the idea of the character.
I understand the complaint and story wise he probably shouldnât appear again. But I just wish they got more creative and interesting with Ryu play style. I can live with boring as well. But can he at least be decent at what heâs suppose to do. Getting Sagatâs low tiger shot frame data would be a nice start Capcom lol.
