Unfortunately if i looked correctly sfvdiff doesn’t seem to have the dash/backdash data for Sagat or G yet
Not sure if that’s one of the things @akhos can figure out or not.

As he stands, probably low-mid. The time to charge is too long and many characters can punish from mid distance. Unlike Hakan, he doesn’t get chances to oil from throws cuz no hard knockdowns and it’s not really hard for opponents to combo into anyone to set him back.
Seriously, the Sagat downplaying is making look Zangief mains like they’re swagging. Anyone who thinks those fireballs are too honest probably also thought Elena cr.LP was too honest in SFIV.

One thing I’m enjoying with sagat and I think it makes him good, is that I’m not dealing with dash into 2 active frames meaty then getting mashed out with jabs. Basically because he doesn’t have a lot of meaty situations is actually a good thing. You’re not losing momentum to some mashy scrub because you fucked your meaty by .5 of a frame.
You just stand there and say “come get me”

Yeah that’s what I was telling Frost. In this game its either best to play characters like Ibuki that have oki and set play that circumvents the oki system, or play zoner type characters where you can just go “oh I have the life lead, that’s good enough” and sit on it. Maybe throw a low shot like Bonchan does so they’re forced to block something as they wake up and creep in. With Falke there’s only 2 or so situations I actually pursue oki in and everything else is generally not worth it. Especially since her damage dump is good enough that I can keep the lead regardless.

Sagat is sweet I wanna pocket him cause he covers all of Cody’s poor MUs and he’s a big contrast to his playstyle.
Preferring to play him atm over Cody due to literally the reason Highland just said, you don’t have to fuck around with specific meaty timing scared about losing due to not covering the correct rise in time.

About that frame data. Anyone know a mobile app thats updated to at least Cody?
Realizing I have no set archetype to describe me in SFV. I use Karin, Juri and Birdie the most and they’re all different. And now I’m mos def sticking with Sagat in the long run. Not sure if I’m just random or do I appreciate rush down with a hint of zoning.

Then ignoring the fact that usually tier lists end up a certain way for a reason. While not optimal most people move up to match up charts which are infinitely more descriptive.
But hey, you set up the goal posts then took them to australia. You have no idea what you’re saying other than trying to tell people to pick who they want.
This is one reason why I really like G. Basically all other characters save for a very few, have to try and get some really shitty momentum off of knockdowns. But with G, I can just go for presidential levels or meter. It’s always good to get some presidentiality and once he gets presidential and lands a combo, well his reward is super high so you really don’t need the momentum.
The thing is, on KD, you want to be getting some sort of an advantage and president levels are that advantages and it’s guaranteed advantage unlike KD oki where you are taking a gamble with eating reversals and mashed jabs when you went for the wrong kind of oki.

Ok. You seem slow. Somewhat stuck on semantics, and are maybe being wilfully obtuse to try and win an argument i guess. Maybe i need to reiterate?
If we look at a tier list for lets say season 1 week one of sfv, its going to have characters in positions based on the community opinion. That week one tier list is frozen as a “snapshot” of what people thought during the first week of the game.
Now here’s the tricky part. People learn. They understand more. Tech blah blah blah. That week 1 tier list is now invalid. A new one is developed. Now the opinions are different. The tier list evolves. Week one list is still week 1. This happens in smaller scale increments constantly until the game and the players stop evolving. So yeah, its frozen. Then the meta changes. Then its different.
Now you knew all this from my original post, but for some reason you needed to jump in and talk about mvc2 Cable and 3rd strike. So i point out examples of characters moving up in old games and point out how at the end of the day its just a fucking list and irl, shit happens.
All for you to just agree with my original premise and provide more examples of exactly the same thing I’ve been talking about.
Maybe next time if you don’t understand what someone is saying, try asking questions. Maybe try to engage in conversation instead of posting some passive aggressive bullshit.

You made an easy point easily refutted. You doubled down by saying you were only talking about certain tier lists, not all of them and you still haven’t dealt with the fact ultimately, if a character is at the bottom of a list, its for good reason.
Sometimes good things happen, the vast majority of time it doesn’t.
