I hear you about the Gief woes. I feel like in general it isnāt super worth it to play a grappler in this game at least this season. Mika is the stand out because her command grabs are sort of where a command grab needs to be to be good as a dedicated gimmick in SFV: she has one that still has oki and momentum, and one that can do a fuckload of damage. I also think Abi is in a good spot but his overall kit is just better rounded than other command grabbers which helps him avoid some of their problems (outside looking in so maybe Iām off here).
Like Iām doing well with Laura and I enjoy the character but I also feel like Iām ice skating uphill sometimes. Iām gonna ride out S3 as-is and keep a curious eye on what S4 shapes up to be between new chars and changes to existing ones. Iāve also been playing against personal type this whole time (Iām naturally lame as fuck) which has been really educational but I also sometimes actively fantasize about a character with good screen control that I could just let people crash against until they die.
Gief is sad and bad at S3, but he could still be doable to play with.
But I enjoy more playing a Gief with good buttons and fast SPD with no oki than a Gief that has to land an SPD then dash in and mix the opponent up, which is the whole basis of SFV Gief.
In S2 I had cr lp as the good button at least! Now he doesnāt even have that.
Luckily, Falke appeared. I just wish she had appeared when S3.5 had dropped, so I wouldnāt have played Sakura. I would have picked her right away and would be a very happy lady all the way through here.
Those Darkstalkers costumes arenāt all that good imo. I only like Urien and Juri. The rest are eh. Not sure why Ed was given Demitriās costume. Bison would have been a much better fit.
Youād think considering how popular Bison is online, theyād be throwing us swimsuit costumes for him left and right but noooooooo, letās give his wardrobe to his testube bastard instead!
I hate the fact that Bochan fuckinā up Punk will go under the radarā¦that match speaks volumesā¦either way Imma need Bochan to start using Karin a lot more and Sagat respectively
