SFV lounge: London we have a Problem X. SFV gave us the Burger King again

I found one.

Go to the character select screen and change the character to Chun-Li, cuz fuck it, am never willingly playing Guile vs Cody again.

Do you guys remember that episode of excellent adventures when they had Aris as a special guest ?

I remember a Yun kept joining and bodying Mike and Gootecks, Mike Ross with annoyed at how the guy isn’t playing " Street Fighter " while Aris told him that it is the dumbest thing he heard.

The X isn’t playing Street Fighter crap is an infinite circle of whining that have been going on for years.

We got 2 characters the day after they were revealed. For Capcom that means nothing but costumes until PSX

Be carefull of what you wish for. Now we’ve got to suck a paw untill spring no less like a bear does.

Man, what a shitty day to play SF. I finally got some good sleep wich shaved off half a frame off my reaction. I instantly started controll my hands and not the other way round like in a shitty joke. And what do i get? Once in a half hour connection to a bitchy Sagat who doesn’t wanna rematch me. And the bitch did it before so it’s not me lagging a lot. Fuck it. Now I’ve got a rest untill monday and once i return i’ll get my brain to it’s full speed and crush those platinum scrubs.

Online play was great for me today.
No lag, won a lot of matches, but I keep wondering if it was laggy for my opponents.

It’s so stupid that you cannot send messages.

since they dont sponsore them anymore i wouldnt be so sure that they will held the tourney during psx…last time i checked they did not revealed the place where the finals will be.

Ah yeah it’ll probably be somewhere else then

not necessary…maybe they still deal something out. or they end up in a mal like tekken did :sunny:

Destroying Akumas was my favorite hobby since the day was playable, the fun part of it was beating up a character supposed to be better than yours by default, that was so satisfying. In SFV I have the feeling he can stole my socks with my shoes still on my feet, his low stamina isn’t a matter for him here. The point is Akuma is still playing Street Fighter, the real problem is big part of the cast who aren’t good enough to be considered SF characters. His cr.mp/up being +oB are there for that reason, they haven’t the range but the advantage or CC properties makes up for it. That’s it. I don’t like any of the others characters able to at least competing at SF with him, so every time I played an Akuma I ended up in a bath of sweat and disgust, because win or lose I don’t have the same fun against him anymore.

Jyobin is playing Necalli in V, that’s not surprising. YOLO characters for YOLO players.

I still dont think Zeku loses to Akuma. Wont outright say Zeku beats him, but he does way better than people may think.

Isn’t a 6-4 or worse, Akuma just has an edge on this MU mostly because of a better VT. Until he popped out that, Zeku has to outplay Akuma anyway imo just because managing 2 characters at once is harder than using a super good one.

A lot of the issue is how much of a disadvantage you have by starting in old Zeku. I’d like to see OZzy buffed into a more competent character. The dude is just so lackluster in so many places.

I agree, they should allow the player to start a round with either Old or Young. That would be a very nice change imo.

Don’t agree with that at all actually. The actual character is Zeku who transform into young. Making Zeku’s grams better for some kind of keep away would be a better idea.

Actually if he could rekka into DP from koku (the straight projectile kick) think that’d making really fucking good.

It’s hard to figure out how to buff zeku. On the outside looking in I don’t think zeku has any particular weaknesses. When I look at the character, what makes him weak isn’t a lack of moves or lack of options or damage, it’s a lack of fast, useful, frames. This is a part of sf5 as a whole where most strategic moves like anti airs and crush counters are purposefully designed to be slow as balls, but with zeku he seems to have this as a limiting factor even moreso inherent to his design.

Oz: koku and flip are slower than what they maybe should be when considering their range.

YZ: qcb P is super slow so can’t be used as a traditional AA.

Slow startup power moves are one of the things that makes 5 feel bad to play. Any time in basically any performance based endeavor, slow things just feel retarded and restricted, to try and use well. It’s lag, basically. Imagine if you drove a car and it took 20 frames for the brakes to apply, or for the accelerator to start shooting gas into the pistons… it would feel like shit. Yeah the car would still be drivable, but what would have been a nice leisurely drive through the city is now fraught with danger because you have to keep hyper vigilance and awareness of your surroundings and the road, which you wouldn’t normally need to do.

For me this is exactly how sf5 feels to play. Everything is there, just made harder. AA’s are slow, but still there. Footsies are still there but mediums are slower and have less range and no longer have safe cancels for most of the cast…
Etc etc

It’s like walking into a gym with the intent to do a set of curls, but there are no dumbbells so you have to use an ez curl bar that comes in 10 pieces and has to be out together. Then after spending 15 minutes putting it together, you can finally do your curls. That’s how sf5 feels for me, and zeku as well.

Having said all that, I think I would like the game a lot more if it made just one change. Make AA better across the board so we can better force a ground game. That’s the one thing I personally would change.

Yup. He went for more cerebral savagery.

When I was going through frame data for Ryu in SF4 and 5, looking at the decisions was interesting. With how mad people get at things, Gouken’s sweep would tilt the entire internet (6 frame start up, -3 on block).

A lot of those normals feel ridiculous. The alternative SF5 provided is definitely a worse outcome overall. There were a lot of footsies battles in 4 that you don’t see in 5. Nice fast normals with decent hitboxes definitely made more a better ground game. Too bad crush counters keep the game from being able to have all of that. Ryu getting CC knockdowns on a 5 frame sweep would be hilarious though.
