Can you imagine the internet being around during the Civil Rights movement and people calling guys like MLK a social justice warrior? It’s one of the most cringe worthy aspects of online “culture”.
The fact that the term is thrown around to the point of having a clearly recognizable acronym is also hilarious and sad.

Yea it definitely seems ass backwards. I get the types of people the acronym was originally aimed at- people basically crying wolf with fake outrage. But it just sounds dumb now because it implies that there isn’t anything to fight for or against. Very clearly not the case.

Its kind of a complicated answer. From somebody who dealt with some of that first hand, a lot of it has to do with the lack of realistic things. I’ll hit you up later with a more fleshed out post.
I think originally the backlash against the “sjw” movement was because certain people were taking this overboard with stuff like mansplaining and manspreading, which imo are non issues, or throwing the word “racist” around for every thing. Of course, like any movement, now we have the opposite extreme where any act under the social justice movement, even those that are needed, is considered a bad thing and everyone is a “snowflake”. The middle ground seems to be disappearing.

You know that was the biggest surprise for me. I was expecting to be wow’d by these but most of the ones shown are poor. Geras and Sonya are total WTFs. Raiden was a yawnfest. Skarlet’s were cool, but not wow. Scorpion’s split was fun. I agree that the the timefreeze at the end, while it goes with the game’s timewarp motif, makes the fatalities feel incomplete.

Hopped on lost super diamond again after having so many points last week. I don’t think I have the gene to be good enough to rank anymore. Like I find it funny how it’s specifically the points difference between being base diamond and super diamond that fucks me. I legit think this has some kind of algorithm that pairs you up with people that will either frustrate you or wash you after you rank up.
I’m legit too stupid to be good at fighting games.

Absolutely. One thing that bugs me is the discussion of inclusion or forced inclusion.
Let me tell you guys growing up i used to be really into drawing comics and superheroes and videogame characters. To the point to where i used to make up my own. Full comics. Story boards. All that shit at like 10 years old.
But a looking at 99% of my examples in the late 80s/early 90s of cool heroes, the idea of a black superhero was wrong to me at that age. Hadn’t heard of Black Panther back then. Never saw him or Luke Cage. I seriously thought black guys couldn’t be heroes or cool characters or team leaders. So I never thought to draw one or aspired to be one.
We only could be side characters or caricatures. Look up the GI Joe character Big Lob. Or Jimmy Superfly Snucka or whatever his name was from the WWF.
That’s a fucked up notion for a 10 year old to have. I remember finding out Spawn was black and it was the biggest deal in the world to me.
Inclusion when it makes sense as plausible is necessary. If it gets a young gay kid to believe he can still be a leader or a hero then I can’t in my mind think that it’s wrong. It’s very important to see people who look like you doing more than being a stereotype

If you stopped progressing and have already reached your limits. Then you can still be proud because being super diamond puts you amongst the top echelon of players. Think of the players in cod or battlefield that consistently get 20 or 30 more kills than the average player and drive a team to win in teamdeathmatch because they went on crazy winstreaks. That’s where you’re at mate.
I played 16,000 matches and still havent gotten out of platinum with my main.And since have collapsed down to gold with kage. Its folks lke me that have to rethink the choices made in life.
I’m Currently dabbling with Tekken and trying out kazumi lol.
Never forget, time lines are merging, so half naked women are still comming. I’m sencerely woried about SF now.
