SFV Lounge: Ken is high mid. Kage is barely mid. F2P still coming

Basically they make games that are sold as 2 year span video games and they essentially replace each other. Which is lame because it means if you’re an NRS guy you are Neutral Kombat player for 2 years and then 2 years later you have to turn into an Injustice player and vice versa.

Just the next part of the 2 year cycle. People had their fun with 2 years of IJ2 and now they’re all going to be NK11 players. For 2 years.

Looking at some YT comments in MK11, Threatening Capcom to switch for MK11 because of no new character is ridiculous in the 1st place why? It’s like me saying I would not stop playing SFV and transfer to MK11 because SFV didn’t reveal Mech Gouki in S4.

Why would someone even switch his current game he played for a long time for a new game that he never even played before, because of a non-existent character that he never knew and even played before in his current game.

Reasonable comments are those that they want MK11 because of the new attractive gameplay presented and it’s characters.

How does ken’s cr hp anti air compare to ryu and kage’s one?

as a pro player who goes to tourneys and want that fightmoney for sure but as a normal homewarrior thats not the case. plenty of people sticked to mkx while ij2 came out.

Feel free to follow the following flowchart to fully visualize NRS’ development cycle:

(In all fairness, this meme is pretty old. That’s why you see stuff like the netcode being bad, etc.)

Basically the only ones you need to remove are bad netcode/better netcode, PC version is shit (replace with long delay for PC version if it comes out) and replace games is released on consoles and PC to just game is released on consoles. The rest of the cycle is pretty much on point to this day.

The game is dead when you roll into a stream and the first thing you hear the streamer say is “well the reason more people play SF is” then wait for next game.

The biggest thing that hurt MKX was its crappy online play and it was only fixed by the time the worm already started to turn.

Now MK11 gonna launch out of the gate with some of the best netcode in the FGC, with street fighter basically at its series weakest point in a long time, boasting its whole gameplan is going to be what Street Fighter was traditionally held to be, but SFV is very lacking in.

MK11 has won, Boon reigns overall. Resist and shove out your stale memes as much as you want the wheel of history is already turning.

I thought every SF was different though?

The only reason i don’t like 5 is because I’m biased towards my first game (4) and it’s different.

knocks enemy down in the corner and can oki, opponent is at 10 HP, match lag spikes all of a sudden making me stuck and then the enemy hits with something and confirms into a K.O

Great quality youtube content by Smug!

Mk and sf dont really compete with each other in the competitive scene. 2 complete different communities with very few players trying to dip in both

Boon can only win if he starts to bring boobs back.

I really like the optimize gauge design, as of auto charging meter it isn’t bad but it doesn’t feel it is needed.

Yes MK11 has tempting mechanics some with Garou in vibe like just defend and TOP, but it will never replace SFV.

I think their rival companies no longer even view Capcom as a rival, not after the combined botching of SFV and MvCI.

And this came on the heels of stories that Capcom was getting gun-shy about continuing to support fighting games after SFxT’s failure, Ono saying that he wasn’t getting the corporate support and funding he wanted, and that SFV wouldn’t have been released for several more years (if at all) without Sony.

That may be the biggest general PR issue that Capcom currently faces, that it might not even be considered a relevant player in the fighting game market anymore. Sure, diehard fans remain. But I think Capcom has managed to lose, and even outright drive away, a fair chunk of the more casual audiences. Sure, SFV maintains a strong tournament presence. But how much of that “strong tournament presence” is only because Capcom continues to pump money and support into the tournament scene? (I’m not saying that SF would vanish from tournaments, but that SFV at the least would have had to fight for its spot, not only against other companies’ games but against previous versions of SF.)

That isn’t to say that any of the competition is any healthier long term than Capcom, but that Capcom really isn’t in a better spot than any of them. And that’s a bad place for Capcom to be.

The boobs never went away, its just a bit harder to see cause the ladies wear more than 2 tissue papers as clothing now.

Also new Skarlet fucking owns and shits on her old design for free~~~

Also I find everyone who cries about “lack” of hooker outfits for characters basically in line with this guy

Because apparently they themselves have drawn a line that fanservice is more important than gameplay

I really don’t see Cammy as top tier this season. She absolutely loses to gief, birdie, Falke and I’m thinking Sagat too.

Her bad matchups are terrible right now.

So I don’t like fanservice. I feel its immature and childish. I appreciate well designed characters but I don’t feel a need to see extra sexual stuff in my games for the sake of it. Some people love it though.

DoA has been the franchise for those people. It doesn’t appeal to me, but just how I don’t want things to change for the people that built up the franchise, this is one that I’d like to change. Sure some of the DoA fans don’t like the ridiculous fanservice, but a lot of them are. So removing a lot of it isn’t necessarily a positive step. Taking a lot of the gore from MK wouldn’t really be a good step forward for the franchise either.

Fanservice is one of the elements that comprise it. You take it with a shrug and move on. Soul Calibur has a lot of fanservice which didn’t really register to me as such until deep into the series. I love the series though so I just accept that, even though its not for me, it is also part of the fun of the franchise to a section of its fan.

All in all its best when franchise are able to maintain their identity. They become successful for a reason. Sure they need to evolve, but there are certain pillars about them that you probably don’t want to meddle with too much. In this case the fan service is a big part of the initial experience of playing DoA even if you stop paying attention to it after a couple of hours of gameplay.

She was never really at much of an advantage against Falke even before S4 to begin with.

Some probably won’t agree but honestly I’m indifferent if she is not top tier anymore, she’s been top for the first 3 seasons and even got buffed in all of the season balance patches.

I’d probably play Falke but I don’t think I could deal with dictator/boxer nonsense. Smh Season 4 fucked over everything lol.
