It does 130 damage more and kills your oki.
That is not that good at all. Specially if you have to burn a bar for ex SPD.
Zeku VT2 is a good AA and combo ender utility, but not having VTC ability is super bad. I can’t count how many times I forgot I can’t slide into VTC just to fly in front of my opponent just to be raped. And remember, it’s crush counter-able, just to remind Zeku users the meaning of suffering.
Me, at least the younger one. Can’t wait to bulldozing niggas offline and online, y’all see.
on top of liking the character I just love how Falke can shut down some dishonesty in this game that can make you tilt so bad
unless if it’s ex dr, fuck that move
SFIV looks like such a great game!
Being -28 is irrelevant if you combo it. VTC mixups are only strong if the resulting offense will end the round or give you significant momentum. She is not a character like Laura where eating a throw means you get taken for a ride. If you are in a position when Falke’s low tier offense is dangerous after a VTC you are already boned and would’ve lost anyway.
But on the flip side if Falke is losing, VT1 gives her a cute mixup (insert “takethethrow.jpg”) then leaves her with the same offensive opportunities she had before. The fact that it isn’t robbery is irrelevant since her VT1 isn’t either. VT1 is a lame VT on a character who already excels in that area.
Her VT2 makes up for a deficiency in her kit with a weakness that can be compensated for fairly easily. The fact that you can’t combo after it is compensated for in part since is does good damage on its own.
How so??
words
They’re both shit
Well theyre both good, but not retarded enough for the retard v trig meta so theyre relatively shit.
I treat vt2 like a separare super bar. Not at all braindead
Vt1 for its power level should be 2 bars, but the 3 bar feature makes me estimate its power level to be similar to vt2.
Canceling into kens vt1 gets you right in your opponents face with some plus frames but not enough for it to be an actual mixup.
In other words, you cant shimmy at all because youre not plus enough to walk back in time.
Its a good position to be in, but not all that strong. Considering also that the vt1 activation isnt even attached to a particularly powerful normal that covers half the screen like bisons.
Everything after that. Vt1 just nets more damage on combos. A little more midscreen and significantly more in the corner.
Thing is, it still actually requires neutral play in order to take advantage of. You still have to earn these hits in a traditional manner. It does not grant any new yolo neutral tools like akumas or rashids, or even juri’s or any additional toolset period. Just more damage on earned combos for a limites period of time for a 3 bar v trig.
Which is good, ita powerful… but is it retarded? No, its not retarded enough to compare
Now vt2 is matchup specific and it requires a solid hit confirm. But if you optimize your hit confirms you basically get the same thing, more damage with hit confirms with the added bonus of being a good anti fireball tool. Being 2 bars means you can still v reversal once or twice and still have a comeback factor.
This is why i think vt2 might have the potential to be overall better. Especially in certain matchups but it requires a lot more work to get to that level of proficiency in the first place. When i look back on some matches there are situations where vt2 just closed the game faster since i had access to it earlier, sometimes vt1 is better. More or less the same overall
Feels like I just got hit by the forum equivalent of wakeup DP
Shinryuken being an anti-fireball tool feels so wrong lol
VT1 got a lot worse over the course of the meta, take a look at like…majority of the new 3 bars and the current 2 bars
Kolins VT2 is essentially the same type of install as Kens VT1 yet it’s at 2
Ken is a shit so he gets to hold that 3 bar v-trigger for no reason.
I do like that VTI makes Ken’s fireballs knock down and shaves a frame off of their recovery
But yeah making it 2 bars would be fun. I like 2 bar triggers. They’d probably have to buff VT2 again at that point though
(Friendly reminder Menat’s VTI was unfairly nerfed and should be 2 bars again)
I remember being amazed at how OP kens vt1 was…it was a brand new concept and just the idea of it by my sf4 standards was insane, oh how little did i fuckin know of what was to come
Kolins 2 bar is wayyy better than kens 3bar btw. Teleporting in your opponents face from fullscreen is no joke. That shit is ridiculous. It essentially does the same thing as G’s in neutral in that it forces you to do nothing but crouch block and hold that shit.
On 4.5 Menat’s VT1 should be two bars again and, to avoid VT2 looking strictly inferior, it should be 1-bar but only one set of spheres per activation so there’s still chance of up to 4 sets per round.
I really hate the feeling of having to be on the verge of losing in order to get the party started with 3-bar triggers. At least Urien or Necalli have enough life to activate it by 40 % sometimes but on a low health character it gives the impression of “you have one single shot, make it count”. Installs aren’t inherently flawed, but when designers start to justify a weak base character on behalf of his trigger, I draw the line (that goes for G).
V-trigger system is a mess mostly because of the power disparities. Once you had Ibuki’s bomb and Urien’s aegis reflector become v-triggers, any hope for it went out the window.
VT system is alright, adding unique mechanics is fine but nobody can build them and they’re purely injected via damage taken
any way you paint em these kinda comeback mechanics feel really shallow because they’re a constant guarantee.
Which is why I still contend that they are way worse than Ultras ever were. The early days of Ultras were rough AF with people mashing them at random. But goddamn if you don’t just randomly lose to a stray hit in this game like its MvC3.
For better or worse, its kind of the identity of the game for the most part. Gotta let v-triggers keep doing silly bullshit or the game kinda loses its charm.
anything that is just handed to you for losing just kinda, hollows the concept of a comeback to me. VT system would be 10/10 if every single vskill in the game allowed consistent V-meter building and you didn’t build V-meter for taking damage.
VTs wouldn’t be a roudly occurence - if you get mauled, you lose. Simple as.
If the game is giving you a fully loaded machine gun and cheering for you from the sidelines, it becomes an expectancy rather than the really hype moments of old where a comeback was near fucking impossible to make without outplaying the ever living shit out of someone.
Capcom wants fireworks for the spectators.
I dont think v trig has to be THAT powerful in order for them to look cool to spectators.
Meh
