Not sure what you’re trying to say here.
I’m commenting on how people changed their attitudes about moves that allow you to get out of stuff.
Birdie’s vt2 set to be nerfed to 3 bars in 4.5.
Not destroying the opponent? Years playing only Makoto ain’t gonna help.
That’s why Makoto lifts people up like she’s a schoolyard bully trying to take people’s lunch money, I assume.
“Concentrate not on whining about the strengths of your foe, but on overcoming your own weakness.”
Once Makoto hits you’ll have a burning passion for winning every ranked match.
Tiger knees that can be spaced into +1 from block strings.
2 bar vt1 or crouch lp into stand lk being a natural combo.
We’ll see, breaking bones with her was satisfying, at least my does had a reason to run and get in had a great reward.
Meanwhile I have to learn patience with Zeku and go higher.
God damn it. It happened again.
I hate it when characters that I think look stupid visually or in terms of personality end up clicking with me gameplay-wise. It happens so damn often. This time it was Josie in T7. I’m having so much fun with that fucking crybaby jesus christ how i hate her and her voice actor but shes fun gaaah
On a sidenote: why does Namco’s fighting games have at least two women (Pyrrha, Josie) who would be seriously badass if not for them being complete wusses that start fucking crying and seeming super-nervous, then suddenly the fight starts and naaaaah I’m fine until the ending screen where I start crying again.
WHY. Seriously. It doesn’t fit the characters at all.
Funny thing is that you can actually deal with EX devils reverse if you have a good jumping normal, Sagats j.mp picks the stomp part clean out the air and I’ve identified comon scenarios where it’s a likely option.
I did it against a GM Bison, maybe 5-6 times across the span of 3 matches, but he’d never stop doing it because it’s one of those ingrained things in the play, and youre never going to stop all of them.
If he flips into the reverse though , you’re fucked , the best I’ve ever seen at dealing with it is Phenoms Necalli with …wait for it …Necallis st.mk ?!
It’s such a weird interaction, but there must be a really short hurt box and large hit box on that move.
EX stomp is more of a problem for me than EX DR. EX DR you can walk under now and with the delay change get easier punish.
Look in this vid at 3.50 and again at 4.06. It happens again later also.
Other characters may have something similar. Sagats st.hk…has potential, but I’m not 100% it works as well as this.
Phenom was a Bison player so he’s obviously going to know where the hit box deficiencies of EX DR are. People who main the characters they’re fighting against generally have more experience playing threading the needles of that character.
The hit box on EX DR isn’t THAT good and it can’t turn around so once you behind it you can just hit him unless he finds a way to get behind you before he lands. EX stomp has much cheaper hit box
For me it’s actually easier to pick the stomp part out the air or at least avoid it. Once he flips I’m going into mix up town.
Yeah if you have reactions you can make a move around it, but there’s just sometimes where he can do it from close enough where there’s not much you can really do other than EX DP. With Falke specifically her DP is way too slow to gamble on that any way. I’d rather them do EX DR so I can try and walk and PP/EX PP it or get a bnb if I walk far enough past it. The flip is a tell that that’s what they’re going for any way.
It’s a weird trope thing I think. That and the big dumb ribbon are the only things about Josie I don’t like. Everything else about her is
She is the char that keeps bringing me back to that game.
THE FINAL VICTORY IS COMPLETE
Not so much event hubs posted my tier list(which is very nice of them, and thank them very much for that), but watch the first 50 seconds of the video and know what they unleashed on the world
ahahhahHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA
Most characters with her quality of punishment tools tend to have really shitty pokes to compensate, while Josie’s got a shitload of safe, annoying stuff to make you want to swing at her. I don’t think any other character’s comparable to her when it comes to both setting up mistakes and punishing them. She compensates with low combo damage, but that’s a weakness that never really bothers me in any character.
It’s kind of awkward that I’ve avoided Josie for so long because of her being a sissy and for her shitty voice acting, and when I do try her, I realize she plays the game I play with Leo better than Leo does for the most part. Leo’s stronger overall (not the least because Leo has SFV V-trigger levels of robbery) but a lot more complex since she’s got a billion situational moves, while Josie’s more compact and straightforward.
Sigh. This is how I ended up playing Ky in Xrd, and Benimaru and Athena in KOF. I don’t like how those characters look, but god damn it I love playing them.
