SFV Lounge: Ken is high mid. Kage is barely mid. F2P still coming

I don’t like Ed and I can answer metro run just fine most of the time, my point was more about Abigail being very good at making people panicking, he can also afford to take some risks since he has the biggest health pool in the game and plenty of comeback potential

why the surprise? No one likes Ed

And that one Ed player I follow on twitter…

Play more Abi. I mean, he still has some dangerous stuff but the gimmicky stuff stops being scary real quick.

When @akhos and I started playing for the first couple sessions I could gimmick out a few wins with stuff like that… not they almost never work, and the attempts are costing me games.

I’m just gonna sit and trade cMP with fireballs all day. On that note, I need to start using VT1… even though it’s boring.

I don’t get it.

Ah, alright.

Yea pigeons are great.

Doctrine Dark beat me to it. Tyson has kept a lot of pigeons for decades at this point. I mean one of the characters on his cartoon is a pigeon voiced by Norm MacDonald.

Gimmick Abigail stops being scary if you just lab him with your character for an hour. That hour will net you free wins against at least 50% of Abi players. It really helps if your character can reliably AA his jump.

I will say that SFV’s lack of armor breakers sort of bugs me.

Not me. I hate shit like that. Armor absorbs one hit (usually), it’s nice and simple. Adding properties on a set of move that arbitrarily ignore that rule starts making the game a mess.

Do that a few times and you wind up with SF4.

I’m fine with no armor breakers if armor moves are generally just one hit or grabs have decent range. When we start getting getting into 3+ or Super(?) Armor then it gets dumb because it feels too easy for the armored character to ignore what you are doing. The one universal armor breaker every character has, throws, have absolutely shit range outside of a few characters.

Also SF4 had armor breakers out the ass because of focus i think.

When you’re not even part of your scene anymore but still have to go fix their fuck ups.

I don’t buy it, he got a huge health pool and damage for days, an ex metro run from up close is scary as hell unless you have superhuman reaction and can jump forward before he press P.
If you play a sub 1000 health character with low damage you can’t really take many risks against him

How is EX metro up close that scary? Just hold back?

There really isn’t that much hyper armor in the game.

Yeah… focus attacks. Armor breakers are just another thing on my long list of why tha mechanic was a mess.

he can grab you for 200 dmg and 250 stun, holy shit I’ve been calling it metro run but it’s actually nitro blitz, my bad

That why I said back, not down back. He doesn’t move forward that fast and most characters can just keep backing up and then jump over if he’s closing in.

At that point hitting the other guy out of jump startup is a massive guess that is most likely to get blocked, or he may just hit you out of the air which is a big fat whatever.

You can also backlash instead of jump.

walk back is my go to option against nitro blitz but it doesn’t work from very close even when using a character with a respectable back walk like Juri, if it were like that Abigail would be way weaker than he is

Walk back give you time. Then you can backdash or jump.

Ex run can work, but it is a full on gimmick.

Ex run is much better as a hard read to blow up pressure or smash a big poke.
