Wait Vega has a CA? When did this happen? Was it added in the Season 4 patch?
Can’t get everything right.
Speaking of that I’ve also gotten to a point where I’m fine with the wait and see approach for eSports. I no longer care whether or not we get huge stadiums filled for SF. Fighting games will always be hard and Joe Shmoe down the street will always suck at them and that’s fine. I’ve learned to appreciate the niche of fighting games more rather than worry about the sports aspect of it.
People getting paid better for playing fighting games is great, but the super Hollywood Ninja Fortnite player who can go to events as a pure celebrity and do signings is whatever to me.
There’s always different preferences.
To point out one most people here won’t agree with me on… I think throws should be much more react-able (or closer to), as opposed to SF 4-5 guess throws.
yeah, I’ve been meaning to blow up everybody about the whole eSports thing but then its just
This scene has been fucking up forward for so long that it doesn’t really matter if you let them know about it. SRK suffered hard for their fuck ups though. Not that it matters.
Yeah if we were ever to go super full eSports tomorrow, you’re looking at SFV, MK11 and DBFZ being the only 3 games you see being played.
That really isn’t a terrible spread. Those three cover alot of bases.
Yeah it’s just not something I personally care to see in my lifetime. I can do without it and just stable with variety.
To be fair, I don’t think other games would die or anything if that happened. In fact, it’s already mostly SF, DBFZ, and NRS game of the month.
Also, Tekken and Smash are gigantic
True, it’s just that problem gets worse the bigger eSports gets and although I am a culprit of only liking to play games that have big bases so I have someone to play with online or offline after a year, seeing the niche stuff have tours and a spot is good also.
Realistically in full eSports Tekken probably has longevity to replace DBFZ. Like the actual big 3 in full eSports mode is SFV, Tekken and NK11. Just funny that NRS turnout is not very indicative of how much it gets promoted and sold. Rough turnouts for NRS games at tourneys that breathe down the back of the NRS’ HQs is interesting.
That goes back to my depth issues with NRS games. They offer more to casuals than hardcore players.
Really, NRS and Capcom could both learn a whole lot from each other.
I think im actually gonna delve into mk11.
When i played inj2 for a bit i was granted some different perspective when playing sfv
Maybe its just good overall. Nrs games are full of shit i despise in fighting games. Embrace the suffering, emerge stronger
I hate the entire concept of eSports, but I like that guys who play this game like a job can actually make some money doing what they love.
I just beat a Cammy by outplaying her on the ground with my shitty G.
Was a Gold Cammy but don’t take this away from me. Felt good to get her to start dashing and jumping just to try to get in.
This is why I played SF4.
Almost every game has something to teach.
It’s why I can block high low like a mother fucker but can’t tech throws.
Beating people is always good no matter the rank. Smug was making a shit show out of beating up grimmjow’s Gief with G who clearly outneutrals the fuck out of him, but Smug still made it a deal for himself. Find an Abigial or G and taunt and ask them what you jumpin for boi whenever you anti air them.
Hey I ain’t even gold yet.
I’m looking up to all of you.
ALso, the silver ranks are annoying, its a wierd mixup in idiots, psycopaths, and decent players. You never know what you will run into.
Smug is one fuck of a Twitch actor. He had a great moment in the R.Mika thumbnailed video that went up recently. He got an accidental dodge of a killer command grab and then he went full Nicolas Cage when Mika 1 shot him.
Still good to pick up G stuff when he isn’t fucking around (or even when he is). I can’t not hear “wachu jumpin’ fo boy” every time G AAs, even when I’m watching other replays.
I’ll have to get some Popeyes before I play next time.
That is every rank. The “quality” of all of those just shifts. Based on my experience, what I’ve seen watching others play, and hearing from people on here.
Just tonight I fought an okay Birdie (got washed), a Ken that quit after I won one match (after his yolo gamble didn’t work), and the aforementioned Cammy. All Gold or SG.
Every session I put in no matter how long or short usually has that kind of a mix. Bonus points if you get one of the full screen teabaggers.
He’s definitely the ideal fighting game twitch streamer. I think he pretty much gets the most views of any SFV player on twitch ATM. J.Wong can come close sometimes, but he is nowhere near the show that can bring the consistent 1,000 plus numbers that Smug can. Perfect mix of skill, shit talking, humbleness and acting that he can do a bunch of things without getting anyone too offended.
Either way I still don’t like that he one and doned me off stream after I beat him when he dropped his command grab lol.
