SFV Lounge: Ken is high mid. Kage is barely mid. F2P still coming

Thats a great pipedream you have there.

It’s more likely that the Sahara Desert turns into a Purple Forrest with Dinosaurs, though.

Well it has a very large following and if it’s balanced correctly I can see it be popular at tournaments.

NRS balances their games once every 3 days or something.

NRS games life for one month, then the tournament scene is dead, the game sucks the last remaining people playing it dry and then goes radio silent till the next NRS game comes out.

Inbetween this time SonicFox uses the NRS SideEvent to finance his lifestyle.

SRK’s front page has its own fair share of articles that are really just an embedded YouTube video that was created by some else, surrounded by five or so sentences written by the article writer.

I haven’t browsed the SRK frontpage in ages. Think the last article I read was from D3V like yrs ago.

I think drawing a conclusion as strong as some people are when we have seen a very small portion of the game seems unreasonable. Unless you already hated prior, in which case I’m not sure why you bothered analyzing it.

My main concern (as voiced earlier) is depth. In the past I felt MK games got stale pretty quick because almost everything in the games had very specific predefinined functions, which would almost make it feel like you were executing the developers flowchart for your character rather than playing in a more natural way. I think this is why NRS games tend to fizzle more quickly, there’s often not much to explore outside of glitches/exploits.

I am also concerned about MKs reliance on giant advancing strings (which contributed to making neutral a mess in MkX), but I haven’t seen much of that in the footage so far.

Also, I’m excited to have an MK game with real netcode. The awful online in the last two games made putting any real effort into it basically useless.

mkxl and ij2 has some of the best netcodes you can get, wth do you talk about?

MKX took along time to get that netcode, and it was long after myself and many others moved on.

IJ2 did have great netcode, but also wasn’t mentioned in my statement.

Speaking of IJ2 I thought on the whole that game was a large improvement over the previous NRS games.

thats why i wrote mkxl and with the last two games i thought you mean the last two nr games not just mk.
mk9´s online was trash. thats true. base netcode of mkx was better but it was better to play with locals till they updated it with the xl update. jupp, they improve from game to game till now on several aspects. the netcode is a big + on that regard.

Delay Netcode.
I wish proper Rollback would be standard by now, or at least construct a Delay Netcode that doesn’t add buttloads of input lag to the game a la NRS.
Funny enough, many PS4 player in CF consider playing online on PC to be good training.
Mainly because of the lower input lag and the average delay from the connections.
On average you have online the same input delay as offline on PS4.

Sadly the region lock makes it kinda impossible to play people in any way other than via Discord.
But at least I have a 300 player strong Discord to get matches regulary and fast.

@Rice_Eater yea I don’t know why I thought ryus cr.hp into tatsu wasn’t a buffer, I just tested it today and it’s a classic buffer, no delay or nothing, don’t know why I thought otherwise, thanks.

Name one competitive fighting game where the whole cast is well rounded and can compete at the highest level.

Nightmare mode: It can’t have had any revisions during it’s life spam.

I’m waiting brotha

Regarding netcode:

Good netcode is good netcode, and bad netcode is bad netcode. While I wholeheartedly agree that rollback is better, I think some people overstate what it does. Bad rollback netcode is still bad. I have played many games with delay based code that are fine, or even better than other rollback games, and vice versa.

Also, no amount of netcode will fix a bad connection.

Lastly, KI3 is still the gold standard for netcode. That game is so good in so many ways.

Tekken 7.

Thats a good joke.

The vast majority of the cast is based around a generic set of tools, or have specialized gimmicks to cover for those situations that the generic tools would otherwise cover.

TWT finals was won by someone piloting a bottom 3 character, and beating the two best pilots of the best character in losers- and grand finals.

Sounds like something that fills the criteria to me.

What’s Fated Retribution?

hehehehehe I’m still waaaaaaaatiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing

Why are you even bothering to reply lol? Their only objective is to blast games they don’t like. The best you’ll get out of them is meme responses

Normal mode cleared. I’m fine with that.
