I like the idea of characters having to do things to overcome things as long as they are still strong overall. Everyone just having everything just makes the characters different versions of the exact same chess piece. Never been a fan of the type of balance that allows everyone to just use the character they love the best in a fantasy balance world that still won’t exist either way. Still gonna have tiers and matchups regardless.
NK11 is another game branding “intimate/honest” neutral, but you know how it goes. NK11 is another game with a bunch of neutral crash options and fireballs that don’t clash and capture state the hell out of you. This means when you go online other than the Noob’s gdlk netcode helping you, most people are going to play like idiots and you are going to complain about it. There’s a lot of ways to play like an idiot in every fighting game and the desperate nature of trying to win quick ranked/casual matches online will always facilitate that. Even with SFIV Dieminion said he noticed how panicky everyone played at the arcade in Japan because of how much it costed to stay on the sticks and one match deciding whether you stayed on or got off. Plus most Japanese players that aren’t like a select few are extremely active, must press something all the time players.
Look forward to you giving a shot then. If Noob’s netcode truly is gdlk and more than 3 people play it in Australia you’ll likely have something else that is fitting for you to play online. Will even have wifi notification to let you know when you’re fighting one of the Call of Duty whores that are playing from the attic.
Also, it’s very tough to judge all of what MK11 is doing other than to say it looks quite different than MK10, which was different from MK9 and so on.
What I can tell from the footage we have is some of what people are saying doesn’t quite seem to make sense. Especially the comments about all the characters having the same normals/tools/ranges.
In regards to the “everyone has a fireball”, if you’ve played the past MK games you should know how different those fireballs are. Scorpions spear and sub zero ice ball function quite a bit differently in practice.
Yes, I’ve already said that it must’ve been a combination of me playing drunk and having unstable connection.
I don’t get mad for loosing, but I do get really angry if opponent starts teleporting after losing a round. And I know that it is really stupid, as it usually means that I won the previous one because of that.
Still, it does not excuse my behavior. Sorry about that, I’ve brought great shame to my family name.
That is true, but it is not a rational action anyways.
If you do it three times, you get suspended for a day and loose 1000 points.
I was wondering if that is maybe the ideal way to ensure staying in lower leagues, but you probably get matched with other quiters.
He 2 0d me last night also. Got a chance to get started one round and then dropped the bnb and got rekt after. Definitely would prefer to use Ibuki vs him. That new flying thing he has is hilarious
Yeah, my reasoning was wrong. I thought it wasn’t in because I never saw it but if those people get matched up with another like Frost said then that explains it.
The biggest problem with nrs zoning is that they make some characters whose sole purpose is to spam their shit. I say spam because there isn’t any nuance to it. Just instant full screen hitboxes.
The other characters like sub or scorpion have varied functionality so the no clash thing works out. Sub can trade projectiles because he still usually gets follow up damage. Scorpions capture is broken if he trades. Then you get reptile whose ball travels slowly and launches and theres various other soft capture states. Then some can be neutral crouched while others can’t. Etc.
Its just a different way to decide who wins a fireball war other than recovery and travel speed.
Also nrs games aren’t balanced at all at launch. But its the everyone is kinda crazy so you don’t notice as much type of balance i hear so many sf players say they want. The caveat is there are at least a few dlc characters that just release shitting on the entire game.
Idk. Its fun if you can wrap your head around it not playing like anything else.
Good summary of why I’m not fond of NRS-zoning either, even though I play projectile characters in nearly every game. There’s just not much nuance to it compared to how it works in most other 2D fighters I play.
