Hopefully all this noise will force Capcom to fix the nonsense that’s going on PS4, either that or move the competition on PC. I don’t necessarily mind being one of those affected by this issue because I only take my progress seriously up to a point and have no plan of getting really competitive, but for all the people on PS4 that are trying to be competitive, and the PC users that need to rely on the PS4 playerbase to get a decent population, and, most importantly, the offline tournament scene this really needs to get fixed sooner rather than later.
Knowing Capcom, even if they do something to fix this, they’ll never announce it formally and it will be up to these folks on Twitter to find out.

In merrier but less interesting news, Falke carried me to Ultra Platinum. Yay!

Which brings me to explaining my point further is that if the community treats Capcom as if they are no longer providing QoL support for the game, that the only other option is to put things into their own hands like people have with other games.

Most likely still be pretty active as most of the player base plays despite background issues and the most played character online is a character that’s unviable in CPT. Being the only game other than KI that has PC to console crossplay that always gives players an incentive to play as they know they can always get an opponent from 2 different environments.

This is pretty much what I’m getting at. We all know at this point that by the time Capcom would fix anything, SF6 would likely be getting announced. There are several hard issues with the QoL of the game that they have shown they are not interested in fixing while we buy costumes and enter CPT on PS4.

Ultra Plat Falke is cool. Mine is at 13,000LP, should push to Diamond but got lazy/decided to enjoy the weekend.

We’ll see how poorly implemented the crossplay in SFV is, I don’t see people having faith in SFV when the company itself deliver such a disservice without addressing it. When the frustration overcome the fun, there’s no reason to keep suffering. People will remember this era of SF, fool me once…

…but…they are…?

Got no idea what you’re tryna get at

People will keep playing until SF6 and then we’ll see if people give SF6 a chance.

The point is they are not providing the QoL support that will fix these issues. Their QoL changes as of the last year or 2 has been pretty much one frame change while still knowing 0 about the random delay changes per match and still doing zero about the poor algorithms that cause the one sided rollback (especially between PS4 and PC) since launch.

I’ve always preferred playing offline at home or locals than playing online, I can’t stand losing because of something I can’t control like lag. With this issue I have to think twice even about going and spend time/money to be at a tournament since I can’t trust not even the official console. I don’t care if even my opponents have to deal with it, we deserved better.

No question about keep playing, but I have doubt about giving chance to the next SF after all this mess. Normally the number of players drop after years, but Capcom doing idiotic things don’t help.

Yeah it’s the same as other SF games. People who didn’t like the direction SF was going in IV likely didn’t look at V for too long and those adverse to the issues with V likely wont play 6 without seeing something really drastic change.

That’s the tough part is now we know offline is online too. LOL. You could arguably say S1 offline was online also.

This is the dance though isn’t it?

Big fuckin’ issue shows up, players get sangry about it. Capcom doesn’t really respond 'cause that isn’t what they do, so the player base sits around and prays to their Blanka-chan idols that it gets updated.

The problem is a lack of a squeeze factor: so long as events are still popping off, viewership is high, and their character/costume cycle still gets people to shell out realbux periodically, they aren’t in any way motivated to change. I actually think it’s only getting better for them: they have ongoing support for the game so its still costing them money but the majority of the cost was up front so the long it goes on and continues to “succeed” for them - whatever that means for them - they aren’t going to change how they handle it.

Even if everyone somehow sat down and agreed to walk on the game until Capcom fixed the issues, if the over-under wasn’t worth it would they bother? Maybe, or maybe they bean count and decide its better to just ride this model out until they can kick SF6 out the door.

If this were any other company and any other game they’d have to work a lot harder but Capcom has a fuckload of childhood and legacy goodwill to burn. If Tekken 8 comes out and has half the problems that SF5 does that game will bleed for it but here we are suffering through variable input lag on year 3 and waiting for the G and Sagat trailers for new ways for our hearts to be broken. No wonder why there are so many Juri players here and online, we all like to be hurt.

People will come back for SF6; hell they can easily do that by saying “Hey this isn’t SF5!” :stuck_out_tongue:

It’d be nice if Capcom had a Community Advisor. Killian was the perfect bridge between the developer and the community. Not having someone like that actually sucks.

He slayed Lord Daigo and left on a high note. That was a smart decision.

I still don’t know how much that actually solves problems. Keep in mind, Killian et al. were employees of Capcom USA, which would then have to report to Capcom JP, which would then have to help kick that to Dimps, the actual people working on the game. In this game of telephone, there is the potential of poor translation, miscommunication, lack of clarity, and many, many other problems.

Take into account also that they’re (sometimes) trying to make a game with a wide audience, so there are certain bugs and glitches they are going to flag as significantly worse than others, the fan feedback they listen to will be from a different PoV, etc. “Community Advisor” seems like a fun title, but in terms of making like real, meaningful long term changes to games, they are just a cog in a wheel, it seems, that gets increasingly shaky and worn-down the higher up the chain it goes.

Feel sorry for tournament players who find out about this :-/ I guess it’s time PC Master Race to segregate y’all Console players from joining our honest games.
