Abigail gets buffed, everyone gets mad and say he is OP, but for none of the things he got buffed for they complain about stuff he’s had from day 1, which was fine before.
Abigail then gets nerfed at the hands of cowardly players and even more cowardly devs
I get your point. Just that realistically Cody doesn’t get completely trapped when he can anti air as well as he does and has CC buttons that are very threatening for Guile’s neutral. Not like Cody has low health where he can’t afford to take stray hits in neutral and Guile doesn’t have an ambiguous jump cross game strong enough to not just block his forward jump if you dont have confidence in the AA.
He can’t anti-air, I’ve already said when you get caught up in successive light Booms Guile’s jump is covered by the next incoming Boom, you can’t throw out a fireball to contest and you’re too slow to create space from the walk-in jump.
Her model is hideous. Standard outfit covers a lot (neck, head) so she looks okay there but without the coat you can clearly see how rough the model is. I like the approach with a more angular face and pronounced nose and western features but the execution is really bad.

Btw i’m watching Cody players and like 80% of them are not using bad spray. How come ?
My wife and I went to Eleague yesterday night, we had a really good time. Even though she doesn’t play the game she still really enjoyed the energy of the crowd and could follow the game well enough since it’s a 1v1 fighter. They did a bunch of raffles and my wife got the $50 gift card. One of the best local players named FGCJesus won the most expensive prize, which was a MCZ TE2. Problem is that he’s a pad player so he’s not even going to use it lol.
It was really great seeing people outside the norm. There were a lot of younger kids there. Not just kids of players/fans, but kids that were actually fans of the game and the players themselves. There was one drawback. Attendance was much larger than normal(since it was the final episode I guess) so they delayed us going inside by about 40 minutes and they had to turn people away. Two of those people being a mother leaving with her daughter. The daughter was in tears because she really wanted to go to.
I know the stream sucked because of all the breaks, especially the one in between GF’s. But overall it was a great event for the players, attendees, and the locals who were hired to help run the event. So I hope it’s doing well enough to return again next year because it would really suck to lose Final Round and Eleague at the same time.
if the oki the opponent is going for covers 3fs, bad spray loses. It’s only useful for certain set-ups that only covers 4fs, it’s not like the old bad spray where he rises sooner
One other thing, I’m sure you guys know who Pokchop is. The guy was just a few row behind me and was going off non stop for the entire 2 hours we were in there lol. How does one person have so much energy?
I actually had a short chat with him when I went to the local a month ago, he was pretty chill. But it’s like he has a different mode that he just turns on when he plays and when he’s in the audience like this I guess.
Lol yeah, Pokchop is a hype monster. Completely authentic when it comes to generating hype, too.
V-skill can be kinda good in the Cody-Guile mu if the Guile isn’t paying attention (aka 90% of Guiles)
Stick it out for a few booms ob, slap that v-skill, oopsie, fireball still on screen when Guile tries to toss one, no charge, take some space.
It’s a scrubby tactic, but lord knows he needs it to work
vskill into light boom, boom stays in the area of your hurtbox long enough for it to trade with Guile
it’s not very effective unless you get a small gap to vskill as Guile jumps before the boom lands
Against popular opinion Cody’s anti cross-up options are bleak.
You’d expect v-skill to cover cross-ups as it’s a two-way hitting spin kick, but the hitbox that appears behind him is delayed until Cody finishes his full rotation, so the opponent can land and block in time. If it were to work similarly to something life Zangief’s Lariat, he’d be A-Okay, but the initial hitbox is entirely on the front facing side, and the second hitbox covers behind. That second hitbox takes WAAAAAAAAY longer to come out.
He can’t do an auto-corrected st.hp due to the speed of the normal, and non-corrected st.hp has a lovely dead angle right at the back of Cody’s head, so deep cross-ups really paint a red flag.
He CAN do a super delayed v-skill, but you’re risking getting tagged trying to make it auto-correct, it’s not like an autocorrected DP where you can do it immediately using the crosscut input, you have to wait for their hitbox to be in a position where the v-skill with automatically switch sides. As you can suspect, this isn’t very consistent.
I’ve tried a couple of other options, delayed st.lp but it loses to certain cross-ups with stronger hitboxes. Walking forward into a delayed st.hp can work, but Cody’s walkspeed is so slow they have to royally mess up their positioning for you to do this.
If his st.hp were more similar to Laura’s, Cammy’s or Akuma’s so that it just didn’t have a dead angle he’d be fine, but because of the severe cut-off point on the st.hp AA frame hitbox, he gets fucked by deep jump cross-up attempts.
Just something worth noting if you’re playing him, V-Skill is NOT an effective anti cross-up tool.
Sometimes even with Falke I have to air to air with jump button if I know they are in cross range. Sitting on the ground to deal with neutral cross ups only works for like a few characters.
I’ll have to mess around with his j.MP since it knocks them half way back across the screen if it hits. Be good for matchups where you want to keep away. So far correcting the v skill works vs really close jump overs. Plenty of time if you press the other direction early enough.
J.mp hitbox is weird, he punches downward not upward, so if you’re jumping INTO an air to air, you get fucked. Also doing a jump back j.mp x j.hp TC makes the HP whiff majority of the time
Yeah I wouldn’t mess with the target combo much. Just j.MP in certain matches to back people off. I’ve already used jump normals in other games that hit at the angle j.MP hits at so can figure that out. It knocks them away even on trade so be pretty good once im comfortable with the hit box.
I also like how auto pilot V Skill is vs EX DR and EX wall dive. They pretty much opt to just whiffing far away from you because its pretty much guaranteed to hit if they go in with it.
