Firstly, why would you botch a Cody V Skill vs a non charge drop kick? The animation for charged drop kick on a 2 button input move is super obvious.

You could do it with something as complicated as an EX DP, but 2 buttons is no problems. Fujimura can eye it and c.MP it and that’s a button that will get destroyed if it gets crush countered and only gives him like 70 points of damage if it hits. There’s characters that have to react with something that does shit for damage and has no invincibility. Yet, Cody can press 2 button on reaction and remove it off screen well in time for the invincibility to kick in.

You have to be at a retirement home if you can’t press 2 buttons (one button for pad mapping heathens) that become invincible at frame 3 on reaction to the charge animation. I can even press V Skill when her feet are basically in Cody’s face and still get the clean punish. You play Mika (and I do play Cody sometimes for the record). Come actually on.

Momochi has basically already shown that Cody does not die to Abby, but Cody is the only character in the game that can meterlessly stop his charged unblockables and basically doesn’t allow him to play much of his traditional neutral until VT1. BUT, yeah dies.

I’ll give you losing to Sim and Akuma since they have a lot of air trajectory changing stuff and Sim can poke him from a range that he’s not really relevant from.

And why does Guile players who just press up and kick on a down charge fall for Mika’s dropkick ?

Also, Cody is a damn nightmare to fight as Gief too.
Easily another 7-3 MU on the never ending list of 7-3 MUs Gief has against him.
I don’t see how Cody would lose to Abigail either.

I play Mika and am telling you she win the MU. Also i do play Cody.

Also Momochi winning a single match vs an unoptimized Abigail like Itabashi’s doesn’t make it a winning MU. That is like saying Juri beats Rashid cuz Infil wins in it. Or that Chun beat Cammy cuz Infil won that one time.

I dont think she does, but if you can’t react to her charged drop kick with V Skill then that’s probably part of the big reason why you think she wins.

What is gonna be unoptimized about Itazan’s Abi? He is the top Abigail essentially with only Storm challenging him.

If my geriatric fingers can react to Mika’s Dropkicks then you don’t have any excuse.

If you’re asking why Guile players aren’t reacting to Mika’s charged drop kick with flash kick, that’s a completely different move. Firstly it’s charged so there’s no way for you to see Mika’s charged drop kick animation and then start charging down for the flash kick. You are pretty much forcing yourself into blocking the plus 2. Plus crouching means you can’t walk or do anything else to prepare for it.

Cody’s V SKill is 2 buttons that become attack invincible on frame 3. Do it and be done.

Also for the record on stopping Abbys heavies . Ryu can parry, Abigail himself can parry, Kolin can counter, Akuma can V-skill,

Chun can cr.MP and low profile all of his charged heavies. The notion that only Cody can stop it isn’t accurate.

And Mika doesn’t beat Cody just cause of dropkick. Mika beats him because all she needs is to get in once and win. Him having an option that is throw invisible is also wack, like basically every shoto, Urien and Guile have that and they all have an even better risk reward. Cuz they get stuff out of theirs, dont lose HP and Urien doesn’t even get CC’ed.

Mika can punish his tornado sweeps on block from with Ex Peach, his “safe” TC xx swing in VT2 can be punished with Ex peach. Cody not having a 3F means that in the corner her F.HP, walk up F.HP is even more dangerous.

Because his backdash is super short, after an ex.brim she can dash forward and punish it with a lady Mika on reaction after an ex brim.

Being a 4F character means that he can punish Mika’s F.MK as a meaty after a peach KD and on a back rise if he blocks, he gotta hold her next button. On a spaced cr.HP he only get to trade while other 3F characters get their turn so her cr.HP becomes a much better get in on him.

I get that it is all perspectives but i played it on both sides and my feelings is that Mika wins, even at best. And Chun 100% beats Cody

If you are already charging then doing up plus kick is pretty damn easy, yet Guile players still fall for it.

Generally people go and say my character lose the MU, this is so weird to fight for saying they win it lol

You can charge it partway and then release it just before the fully charged version happens and she’ll still do the uncharged version; done right it’s not really feasible to discern the two. The act of her moving forward for the attack itself isn’t reactable (it’s like 10 frames and we’ve still got 6 frame input delay), so you react to her charging and time the punish…and that’s when you get baited.

Yet i can show you many matches where Fuudo does charged dropkick and Itazan hold it. Mika baiting a reversal with a semi charged dropkick that comes out as uncharged is a legit tactic and assuming that you will always 100% press the 1 button and totally stop it isn’t happening.

Ryu players have a 3F parry that gives them full combos yet they still hold it on block and get CC baited on whiff.

A low commitment normal button is 100% better at stopping that move over a CC’eable option, especially once that isn’t nearly as rewarding as Cody’s.

At least Roo get a full combo on a parry. I will always take Chun’s B.HP or S1 and S2 low profile cr.MK over an option that can get me CC’ed on a bait.

This is an old video back on S2, but this situation will happen. Any half way decent Mika player will test you on that.

Maybe, I still enjoy Juri though just because she allows creativity without her V-Trigger. I can’t stand that every character bar like FANG, Juri and Akuma all have hard capped limits without VT or lack any flair/design individuality.

Ruins the majority of time spent in a match.
