That’s one of the reasons I can deal with Uniel. The character designs are basically more interesting versions of Melty Blood characters so I can deal with it. The really loud animu stuff that’s in Blazblue and Persona I cant stand. Characters like Bang, Platinum and Teddie are yuck. I appreciate Bridget staying out of Xrd also.
Yeah I’m in a similar boat. I grew up on 80s and 90s anime so that is where my expectations and tolerance are. Once you start getting into 2000s anime the designs and tropes shifted in ways that don’t appeal to me as much (visually at least). I don’t even like the redesigns in Xrd as much as the GG XX designs.
Persona games are a weird pass for me most of the time because I’ve been infected after spending 90-100 hours in each game staring at the art (which is good in the context of those games but I wouldn’t like for FG designs). Funniest thing is I liked P4A because of how it played and the netcode; I hadn’t even played through P4 at that point.
Cycling this back to SFV: FAT finally updated its mobile client recently but in the notes the creator straight up says that he’s dipping out of playing FGs so he’s not going to be updating it as consistently (which I read as “you’ll be lucky to get 2 updates a season”). Since I like having that info handy I poked around for another mobile app (console peasant = looking up frame data on my phone most of the time) and I’ve found “Framedata for SFV” to be a pretty good replacement. Similar data layout, quick character select, and it loads/switches pretty quickly. If anyone else has run into a similar conundrum that would be my current recc.
There’s only one Makoto in Fighting Games and ST still owns it.
That’s cool. At this point I’ll probably just go back to looking at the spreadsheet more often, but ill check that app out too.
Akuma will stay strong, but I’m pretty sure he will not be that retarded next season. Dunno about Capcom’s plan on Cody next year honestly. I will suggest you to stick with the demon, but keeping the mayor ready isn’t a bad idea. I’m the kind of player who loves to stick with one character only either, but to me playing with the character I like the most is more important than playing with the strongest one out there. Just play what you like.
I’m using that app since May, it’s very good. The owner adds the new things the day after, so we’re always on point with the data. If you notice on FAT Akuma st.mk is still reported as -2 oB.
If Froztey said this after getting Cody y’all need to listen.
I agree with everything but the matchmaking times, I have the same issue only if I put the search on 5 bar only. The rest is just SFV, outside netcode and input lag issues the game can’t turn out from the random feeling until something on his core get changed. I’ve talked about the different level of commitment long time ago, now it’s just becomes embarrassing.
That’s nice but you’re wrong
Its funny you say that: the way I’d check periodically if FAT got an update I missed was to pull up Laura’s frame data and check what her st.MK was on hit (since that is a pretty easy, obvious change I’m familiar with). It stayed at +3 looooooooong after 3.5 came out.
I think its sort of odd that Capcom hasn’t made their own mobile app since they open source the frame data through their website anyways. Which is really convenient for when I’m at work or whatever but a little too clunky on a phone so I’m basically using someone else’s app that houses all their data in a super pretty, mobile friendly spreadsheet.
I also am not a fan of Xrd redesigns or most of the new designs really. Sure old GG had stuff like Dizzy and Bridget but the overall style was more sharp and angular. It had that Trigun style. In Xrd everything seems rounded and overdesigned. Johnny, Sol, Raven have baggy pants. Answers and Baikens hair is a huge bush. And her breasts are huge too. She was much more elegant before. Potemkin is an overdesigned robot. Chipp is basically discount Naruto. Milia is about the only character that looks better. Some of the new designs are just very very bad too, like Elphelt and Bedman.
The 90’s style seems to have gone missing and was replaced with a more modern anime look, that I guess is popular in Japan atm.
Anyway, which V-trigger should I be using as Bison? Are they both good or is one just straight better? I’m using VT2 atm.
I do have an open NAT, I ain’t no rookie sonny boy
I’m hardwired at like 50up and 10down, OPEN nat no fireball restrictions. The playerbase in EU is just dwindling.
EDIT**
I’m not editing my autocorrect error, fireball restrictions is funny
I’ve returned to ranked these days and I’ve been struggling at Super Platinum, around 11k range. I got particularly annoyed at my lack of progress with Cammy and I decided to switch to Falke for a while, didn’t really care if I risked getting knocked down all the way down to Platinum.
Long story short, by the end of the session I got a 9 winstreak and stood at 11500 LPs, and could probably get more because either I’m better with Falke than I thought or people in Europe seem pretty clueless about how to deal with Falke.
30 minutes between matches seem too strange, I’m in Europe too and finding matches is never an issue.
I have it set to 5 only if that makes a difference, but I’ve have it set to 4-5 before and I refuse to go back to chancing a “4 bar” connection.
That’s probably it then, if I switch to 5 bars only the matchmaking starts taking far longer.
I don’t blame you either, the last match I played with some guy from Algeria was definitely not 4 bars.
Good to hear. Zoner characters aren’t for everyone and particularly in this game where one bad move means you’re holding shit for a bit. Luckily Falke has ex reversal so people tend to sit and wait which gives you room to mash jab and get out.
You can get by with some unfamiliarity as not many people play her, but I think more so what I realize as I get my Falke towards Diamond is that people are just really bad at dealing with zoners. If they also have fireballs they always do the “I’ma throw one or 2 fireballs then jump” thing. Like I don’t know you don’t want to actually play a fireball game.
Nobody wants to play an un-American sponsored fireball game because we are afraid of jumps. My biggest problem as Old Zeku is not committing to the range game.
Old Zekus fireball is more like a really long range poke since it never displaces itself on screen. Which means you’re definitely going to take a beating on a bad one. More just to temporarily get the life lead before switching to Young. Luckily O Zeku AA is really strong if you are good with reading the opponents jump habits
Well SFV has kinda taught people that they don’t have to deal with it
Once they gotta hold all these normals that you can’t just pass through/absorb, everything they’ve learned just went out the window
