SFV Lounge: It was coming and it CAME HOME. Ono is your Evo 2018 Chamion

Juri can’t get better things because it’ll make her op and broken duh
can’t have projectiles that make her plus or anything crazy like that
capcom only allows that for airborne characters

pretty sure season 4 Juri will get a new move where she can just spin
it does nothing but it looks cool

Nothing wrong with looking cool.

If the question is could they have made Juri in a way where she could work with just flat special moves that are always available on a motion, it’s possible.

In her current state though LK fireball is way too good to not have a charge attached to it. It’s pretty obvious why she would be pretty much number 1 in the game if she could throw LK fireball whenever she wanted. If she sits in front of a LK fireball and throws out s.MK or s.HK most of the cast basically can’t poke at her. MK and HK fireballs damage dump are up to the point where she’d never have to spend EX meter in combos if those didn’t require charge also (although I agree neutrally they are do nothing for you).

MJGA (Make Juri Great Again)

More importantly it’s

America is Great Rite Nao Day

Bring back Awesomely American things like patty on patty chicken sandwiches.

and bring back more Surge

Another thing I wish they would do with Juri is to break up her EX Fireball into 3 different moves. Give her a reason not to sit on meter.

L+M = EX version of her LK release. Basically her VT1 fireball, except it’s plus.
M+H = EX version of MK release. I dunno, maybe make it faster or overhead or airborne, but more punishable.
L + H = EX version of HK release. Like it is now, but faster startup, but -8. Like a punishable EX lightning legs.

Not to mention it would be a good combo with her VT2. If her enhanced EX stores would leave her plus on block ,she could pressure while draining meter because she would have moves that keeps her within pressure range and make her be in an advantage position.

I was hoping that was going to be the case when they announced that her VT2 was for stealing meter, but they didn’t do anything with her EX moves. The way they implemented VT2 was very lazy. I was finding ways to make VT2 work, but then they stealth nerfed it :sob:

That’s one thing for certain. Top tiers are partly who have strong triggers.

More importantly though top tiers are who have the strongest EX moves to spam that leave them safe into invincible EX move. More importantly than that, ones that leave them plus on block. That way if you dont have v trigger you still have comeback. The block strings only last so long without spending meter to keep them going or just have the opponent so shook that they dont tech or hit a button and you “extend” pressure.

Like Cammy doesn’t have a real scary CC minus her s.HK situationally on wake up. Yet, she got them EX moves. Menat is the only exception, but her v trigger and super are ridiculous to make up for it and soul spark is nearly the best non ex move in the game. On top of her buttons having no hurt boxes in a game where very few of the buttons have disjointed hit boxes and those still have big hurt boxes.

I want a Double Down nao.

Thx Jin, I’m hungry

I was sad when they took away the double down. I was already doing research about it online when they were testing it in two cities before the official launch. Lasted about half a year and then of course took it away. Probably could try to make your double down, but that’s too much work.

I had the double down once, it was okay. Can’t compete with the good ol’ chicken breast and hash brown tower burger though.

Well, I was on a receiving end.
Guess why I always cheer for Japanese

I just noticed something cool about Extra Battle Master Ryu

They slowed down his fighting stance. It’s the little things like that I like. Can’t wait until I see those Season 4 Ryu changes :^)

Not sure how popular this thought will be but I hope they make the Extra Battle Boss characters available to play in whatever the final version of SFV is. Of course they shouldn’t be allowed in ranked or casual. I just think it’d be fun to play around with them in Battle Lounge.

So far I think we have a total of 5 of these characters? We’ll probably have a dozen or more by the time they’re done updating this game. So I think it’d be fun to play these OP characters against each other or just have a little mini game to see how much effort it would take to beat a decent player using one of these OP characters.

Even a OP character side tourney sounds like it could be fun. Part me actually hopes that this is a sign of what to expect from SF6. Just make everybody really good and make us deal with it because that’s how the game is designed lol.

Social media/eSports era pretty much wont allow this and doesn’t even happen in games that are “less safe” than SFV.

So I’m halfway through my first week of random select

I can already tell that any week I’m stuck with a character with no walkspeed I’m gonna hate it

Week of Bison is just aggravating

Oh well, said I’d get through it and I need to learn to adapt anyway

I think Birdie is better than Abi and Kolin IMO better than Karin(doesn’t get bodied by big boys and can fight the other top tiers alright), but other than that works for me.
