Can America overcome our 3rd place curse with DBFZ?

It won’t happen after SF that’s for sure.

Saltybet doing fighting game stuff again for Evo if anyone is interested (poverty chat too)

so either between dbfz and sfv or not at all, gotcha.

I think if you are going to do guest characters, bring them along with returning characters. Which is what everyone pretty much does. Most people don’t give a shit about stories in fighters, so guest characters are usually received well enough

I’m not twisting anything. Everyone was playing Tekken 3. All the 2D fighters were gathering dust. I played the same 12 people at SF3 for about two years. Tekken 3 was on the giant display was the most popular game in the arcade. I went to college, new city, and same deal. The two closest arcades to my school were all bout Tekken 3. Only one of them had SF3 and it didn’t have 3S, it had Second Impact. My dorm mate got Tekken 3 on PS1 that’s the only game anyone played. The only time, I got anyone to play a 2D fighter was when I booted up XMvSF for my Saturn. Once the novelty of playing an accurate port of the game wore off, it was back to Tekken 3. :disappointed_relieved:

A guest character in SF would be a fuck up IMHO
They have to pull from a SF universe or multiverse
I’d take a Rival Skools character and a DS game announcement over w/e

Honestly, I would love to see Capcom consider other franchises like Rival Schools to be in the same universe as SF and give us “guest” characters from those games.

Not a fan of guest characters, keep 'em out of Street Fighter thank you very much (unless it’s stuff from Rival Schools and the like, they’re kinda related universes already).

Anna with a bazooka was amazing though.

Yeah I dont want every single fighter series to guest character. Can be at least one or 2 games that doesn’t do that shit. That’s the thing to do, but gives SF more of it’s own identity if it isn’t pulling Joey Chestnut Nathan’s Hot Dog Champion and turning him into a guest character.

Fuck guest characters just release a character we won’t forget or drop after a week

I’m cool with guest characters that actually fit like Geese in Tekken but Negan? What the hell is that? He’s not even from a video game, he’s literally just some dude from a TV show, he’s not even like a fighter or anything.

The only pass I’ll give Negan is that he’s essentially a meme put in from some dude on twitter. So even if kind of in a wacky way, a new precedent for guest characters

Well they’ve kind of done that recently with Zeku and how much his young version references Strider. Maybe they will expand to other Capcom franchises.

I personally don’t want guest characters from completely different franchises like The Walking Dead even if it brings in a lot of attention. But guest characters from other Capcom games works for me as long as it makes sense. Basically no RE characters or stuff like that. Power Stone on the other hand could work.

Harada is riding a hype train that died in 2016 with Negan. I smell a flop.

I want a “Capcom vs Capcom” game. It could play like Infinite but actually give it a budget. I think that could be a big hit for Capcom.
