I was able to do the download anyway, it was slower than normal, but whatever.
Now I want someone able to explain WHY Cody gains V-meter after a st. HP Cc during VT2. That’s beyond stupid honestly.

Mayoral Privilege.
Akuma is done RIP Tokido at Capcup
Servers are up
Is he bugged or what ? Is the pipe supposed to stay with him after trigger expires ?
Also i can’t reactivate vtrigger in training except if i restart the session ( not when the vtrigger auto reloads if i set it to auto reload / infinite )
He keeps the trigger weapon after the timer expires until you land a hit with it or throw it
Lmao, i won the Cammy costume !
YES !!!
Thank God, that normal was a curse.
I guess what the characters with a shitty VT have done to be treated like sons of a minor God.
Now would you look at the Akumer nerf bomb!

DIE DIE DIE DIE!!!
Cody’s V-skill is around 60 frames total if you whiff it
I’m not so sure about using this in neutral to build V-meter
For reference, that’s around 12 frames longer than Akuma’s LP DP (or 18 frames longer than Ryu’s LP DP)
Actually better reference: that’s 8 frames longer than Alex’s V-skill
Checked before, the Cc state is still there for a bit even after the recovery animation. Then as I thought, the move itself has a blind spot around Cody head where you can hit him during the active frames. Seems an useless risk since the recovery duration its so long anyway.
I would still do it easily vs any character that doesn’t have crazy screen clearance when they’re low on meter. Testing situations now vs Gief and there’s a lot of scenarios with fireballs where Gief isn’t going to be able to do shit on the ground that would immediately punish. Which would force him to jump and the V Skill is obviously gonna blow up most of his jumps. Cody’s V skill has a dead spot on his head for AA, but s.HP covers those jump angle attempts. The little amount of white life he loses for successfully whiffing one is negligible any way.
Also tested air SPD vs v skill and you’re not going to grab it unless you grab it way late into the v skill (like after he reaches the top height of the v skill). Not going to be frame 1 grabbing him out of it.
Made a random ass Ken drop on my day one Cody in casuals. Pipe j.HP is too OD.
Beware the pipe.
why is this update taking so looooooong
Yeah, you’re right.
I just need to learn to keep my mouth shut.
It’s going to get nerfed. It’s too stupid right now. EX tornado should give you free whiffs vs most characters especially if they’re low on meter. Every whiffed V skill is only about 4 percent of your white life. You would need to whiff 27 from full life bar to completely fill your life bar with white health. You restore half of that 4 percent after about a couple seconds of not being touched in neutral.
6 whiffs builds a v gauge bar. I think that’s what Ryu’s parry used to be on a successful parry in season 1. Now Cody’s completely better v skill builds on whiff better than his parry does on contact.
Also, found that his rock throw start up basically creates an anti air box so you can cover your anti air somewhat before even throwing the rock.
If Cody mistime the v-skill ever so slight, you can fetch him from very far away with air SPD at the very least.
I will need to lab it more, but tonight was not appropriate for it.
Don’t know what I was expecting, but Cody is a very different sort of character than whatever it was. His neutral is surprisingly strong and versatile, and he has great anti-airs. You can play pretty lame with him, which is not what I thought we’d be getting. I like it though.
One thing I am still figuring out is whether or not his defense on wakeup is bad enough to be an issue for him. He has a few interesting tools that no one else has, but none of them are catch-all answers to pressure in the way that an EX DP is or whatever (well, except his CA).
But man, that neutral though. I’m having a lot of fun with it.
