S3 Gief it was almost 7-3.
You learn her just like you would any other character, or even anything else.
One step at a time.
Don’t worry about her fancy mixups or anything just start with the basics and build.
GG’s @Akhos
I haven’t used Kolin against your Ed in a while, it was kinda neat to see some progress on my end. That set was really close (and kinda ended on a draw game).
No idea what to do against Menat, but she has to actually commit to things more often than Ed seems to, so I can kinda just focus on exploiting that. At least that’s my whole gameplan right now.
GGs
Just shows I need to stop wasting my time playing other characters and focus on Ed like I should’ve been
You are getting better and I need to hit the grind harder
I also stopped pushing sHP and sHK as much on your advice. It helped, but I still did is just enough for you to explode me several times.
I personally think Menat suits you decently well (to My eye). You like to play a very “antagonizer” sort of game compared to my more RTSD tendencies. Menat lets you do that well, she just opens you up more to me “getting lucky”. Hey, if anyone is going to get buffed in a potential 4.5 Ed is probably on the short list.
I’m not sure how much you are going to get out of grinding against me, as you are clearly better than I. You should get some of the better SRKer’s to beat you up.
I try, but I tag them and they never respond.
I’m just not worth their time yet.
This thought did cross my mind the other day.
That set you posted vs @Doctrine_Dark you were holding your own… and he is our newest Ultimate Grandmaster. I always remind myself you aren’t really a platinum.
It worked out perfectly for me that Chun was great during S1 and then Ibuki came through shortly after. If Chun got blown up in S2 and Ibuki wasn’t out I’d be a bit more disappointed.
I still find Chun fun to play, just has too many bad matchups for my tastes and can just play a more polarizing character if you wanna counter pick. Playing against the other top ranked Chuns, most of them play her very rushdowny which is like well eh her rushdown was more fun in S1 any way. I feel more like the top Chuns online go for balls to wall rushdown because they know the neutral doesn’t cut it.
Nah, I am. At least, as far as the nature of ranked goes.
I’m absolutely trash at adapting, which you need to be good at if you’re gonna get through the insanity that Ranked throws at you. I just don’t have what it takes for that right now.
I only seem to do well against Doctrine and DJ 'cause playing for 3+ hours straight gives my slow brain a chance to figure things out, and even then not very well. Or they just get tired, either way XP
If adapting to BS is a weakness…
Ranked is a great way to troubleshoot that…
Yup ranked is always good for figuring out the nut.
Ranked teaches you to always assume they are dumbass that will do dumb shit first, then be surprised and play accordingly if they think about what they’re doing. Ideally as you go up higher in ranked you’ll get more people who think about what they’re doing. The Guiles don’t think about what they’re doing until you get to like Master level Guiles, but that’s ok. Free anti airs when they run out of ideas and jump.
Yeah i passed over Chun because IALL and SBK combos were past my ability at the time (or so i thought). I think before I got on to Claw I was using Cammy, but not very seriously sinced I planned to main him day 1.
I just wish I experienced other characters in their prime and that I was less of a wuss about what I wanted in a character. Like if I had my 2019 mentality for S1/S2 I would experienced a lot of fun characters.
But hindsight is 50/50.
time to put some time into the lab
Was anybody playing?
I’ve just been grinding ranked for a while, but I’m going to make an exception this weekend because Final Round. HMU sometime tomorrow or weekend and we can play.
It would be a hard sell. No version of Gief in other games has been this good at dealing with fireballs.
S3 Gief was awful to deal with fireballs with the v-skill taking full damage.
4 fireballs and you would have like 35% white life. And his lariat recovery was always awful.
Sagat sucked at S3 for Gief. It is better now.
Who playing?
Head butt? Also Sagat mostly plays at a range where you can get some safe jumps in if you time it right.
7-3 is hard counter pick territory. Sagat didn’t dominate anyone that hard Imo.
Still doesn’t. He’s not really designed to be the ultimate zoner.
Headbutt loses to low tigers.
S3 Gief was just plain bad. Bottom 3 easily.
I will concede that Gief nullified both Gat’s triggers since S3, though.
Still, it was one of the several awful MUs Gief had on S3.
S4 Gief, though. He is about right.
