We have different opinions on what solid is, there is nothing solid about mika. She just plays sf5 aka gambles better than alex . It seems like you just want Alex to do what mika already does but even better?

Unpopular opinion but I never thought Laura was broken in S2 outside of 2 bar VT I guess
st.MK was overrated, it was just the best button she had because outside of that she doesnt/didnt have any great ones
no dude, once Mika has you in the corner (1 EX peach does that) she has you in the binder and you gotta hold that shit and guess right. As Froz explained, Alex has nothing scary to keep you from doing contesting his shit with a button or a backdash.

You asked me if she was a solid character and she is lol. She has a good set of tools on top of her round stealing kit. Her wins don’t come from solid, fundamental play since she is a mixup character, but she definitely has a complete kit.
Stop hitting the pipe and actually look at her tools then compare her to Alex. His only real advantage is long reaching pokes and more bulk.
The best player of Mika is known for pristine fundamentals so it does pay to play her fundamentally regardless. Yolo mika is going to get the drop kicks uppercutted and counter poked at top play if relied on too much.

Wow ok, Mika isn’t a solid character outside of pushing you into a blender and doing 50/50’s. Like was mention one of the most fundamental players in the world plays her and gets top 3 usually. Its not because of her solid neutral and tools though…
She’s solid as far as where she is on the tier list, but she’s a 50/50 gimmicky character over all.
So if all you care about is characters being solid mid tier sure mika gimmicky or not doesn’t need buffs.
But if you buffing alex to be more “solid” (gameplay wise) then yes Mika could use buffs as well. If you buffing alex to just be better then hurray we getting another Mika on our hands than can close the distance a number of ways, with a 3 framer, better frames, better normals, and a catch all AA plus his trigger.
Sounds fun.
I don’t think Mika has 1 bad button in her arsenal. If she looked different I would have played her when I started SFV, because I wanted to play a lady grappler (never had played a grappler before), I picked Laura.
@Bea_Iank should have definitively played her in S3 but she instead decided to waste time with Sakura.
