Sagats anti airs hurt if you get a cc and end with dp/ex tiger knee (atleast 240 dmg). But top players don’t like using his st hk as an anti air for some reason.
Everytime I think of poor Sagat my brain screams “give the my man fucking something!” his main strength is chucking fireballs in a game where fireballs are not very effective. Everything else he has ranges from jank to “why is this even a thing?”
I might be exaggerating but they did my man dirty in this game.
Man Gat isn’t even all fireballs, I think someone mentioned this before.
His normals are supposed to be super strong. Midrange monster with fullscreen control. But they aren’t, so he’s forced into using the fireballs more than you’d want to in a lot of MUs, because he can’t maintain the midrange effectively.
That’s a myth, bones grow back same strength and take a long ass time to heal.
Yes and no.
Some low tiers just need help. However, many other low tiers have strengths that are simply more than offset by weaknesses. If you turn around and just patch all those weaknesses you can create a problem.
In my opinion, you don’t want characters with no weaknesses.
Nice, now also a version with her long hair and no eyepatch or the universe will explode.
Think of the baby turtles,it’s your responsibility.
I don’t know if anyone still cares but, I finally got to see Captain Marvel.
Its fine, maybe even good, but only just. It reminds me alot of the early marvel films, before they had their formula ironed out. There are some silly retcons (as mentioned before), but they are either minor, or can be explained away (if those things bother you). There are some fun moments, and one or two fun characters (Being vague on purpose).
Biggest weaknesses are the main character. She is just way to powerful for this movie, by revealing how strong she is for the finale, the movies is also basically shrugging and admitting there were never actually any stakes to begin with, because nothing in the film was ever remotely a threat. Also, Captain marvel herself is kinda dull. Not unwatchable, but she really doesn’t have any charm, or even much of an arc. In this film at least. I actually liked the character the most in the few moments where they just embraced the idea that she was unlikeable, and kinda psyco, rather than trying to have their cake and eat it too.
Like I said before, being intentionally vague for spoiler purposes.
Edit: Also, some of the “Girl Power” stuff was kinda heavy handed, but it didn’t really affect my enjoyment of the movie much. Just kinda produced an eye roll.
No weaknesses is for sure a terrible idea, but they MUST know some of these characters are absolute garbage within the context of SFV and let them be bad. Which sucks.
I think Pertho mentioned it before, but SF always changes it’s foundation with each iteration, it’s not like Tekken where you’re always going to carry over things like KBD, the pace of movement, your movement options.
In SFV, suddenly dashing is one of the best pressure extenders, pressure openers and neutral bypasses. So not having a good dash to me, feels like making a Tekken character without a KBD, because it’s so integral to the foundation of SFV.
Alex would still be the grappler whose command throw returns you to neutral, who can’t AA cross-ups or deep jump ins, has no reversal except CA, and potentially no 3 framer depending on how he actually got buffed.
Not exactly a textbook world beater.
I was speaking more broadly to the comment about “compensating nerfs”.
Fair enough. But it does lead me to ask who at the bottom is one major problem getting fixed away from S tier?
That list is most grapplers outside of the AA part.
Truthfully if alex needs buffs to be more solid so does mika.
No one, but some are one or two such problems, and if you patch them all, you may back into a broken character. From my (limited) memory, this is kinda what happened with Season 2 Laura.
This also often why the high tiers get compensating buffs (and also to make fans of the character less mad).
Mika has a blender game, so I at least see where the impulse to be cautious would come from.
Unless I’m missing some context this is the dumbest thing I’ve ever read here.
Re-read my post history.
I meant is SFV specifically, because as you pointed out, his normals are not good/not as good as they were supposed to be.
And I am still not sure what the idea was with tiger knee in SFV “you can get oki if you sacrifice damage and they decide not to backrise, also you can make it plus on block but there is no way to get the right spacing outside of manually looking for it”
Is mika a solid character?
I myself likes and played A2 than A3 when it hits the arcade.
I’m just curious is their any negative thoughts about on Alpha 2?
