Also, hype ass pop off:
this popped up in one of the discords I’m in, anyone miss those loading screens during the PS1 era of Capcom fighters?
I guess I’m more nostalgic towards these since the first time I played these games were on the PS1, loved them even though later on I learned about MvC1’s restrictions on PS1.I’ll always miss these loading screens though, it was cool to see these custom images while waiting for the matches to load.
I miss them but at the same time, loading screens…give and take.
tbf they could still make that for current fighting games couldn’t they? They would last much shorter though I guess
For anyone thinking about starting to work out the real key is to just start. Weights, running, push ups, whatever. You could just walk. It doesn’t matter.
You’re really just trying to create a healthy habit. Set time aside and do something.
Make small goals. Hit them and push yourself just a little harder. Go a little further. Seek a little more knowledge. Eventually the small goals add up to large accomplishments.
“The longest journey starts with a single step”
I think spongebob or rick and morty said that.
Anyway i lost 120lbs in about a year without any catchy name diets or fancy super work outs. I just kept going further. My bench press is up to around 325 for a 1 rep max at 200lbs body weight but i haven’t checked it in over a year. I work back and legs but i don’t do barbell squats or deadlifts. Got a bad back so no spinal compression or potentially compromising lifts.
Step one was starting and step two is consistency.
GD used to do a body change challenge where the goal was to improve your health either by gaining muscle or losing weight. They’d give out prizes for it too.
one of those things I’ve kept in the back of my mind to bring back.
The day you start lifting is the day you will be forever small.
But never ditch cardio, specially if your objective is losing weight and being healthier.
Yea i used to frequent the workout/nutrition thread before srk swapped over. It was at the start of my changes.
Man I wasn’t aware that Waldstein had been nerfed in the last version. Why can’t people watch a grappler winning and conclude all is good in the world?!!
Goro Daimon has a large size of applicants for the how to rock course…
At this point even T Hawk is welcome if he brings his ST loops.
Grapplers are only fun for people who play grapplers or people who purposefully counter pick grapplers.
Good luck counter picking Goro Daimon, though.
Guy is busted!
Wills Gona start the gym then complain cause he sucks at lifting weights.
What have you guys done!
I need to actually gain some weight and muscle because I barely eat and don’t exercise whenever it’s not basketball weather.
But exercise is boring as fuck. How do you guys keep up with it after the first week?
I keep in mind that muscles and physical strength allow me to crush my enemies, see them driven before me and hear the lamentation of their women.
This is what is best in life!
Weights are actually really fun. I think anyway. Like Mike says it’s kinda like saving money or stopping smoking. If you can actually just start and drag your ass to the gym 3 times in a row, by about the 4th time you’ll start to enjoy it.
Then it will become a good habit.
Personally as an older bloke, I just do the big compound excercies, deadlifts, squats , bench.
Fuck the arms off , who cares you’ll get big arms doing chin ups and dips.
It’s not even about the look for me , it just feels good lifting heavy shit.
“Liked only when playing it or counter picking it”.
Dude, that’s every archetype from a scrub’s perspective. SFV zoning overall suffered the same fate derived from the same mentality.
Balancing them it’s the best way to ensure fun on both sides.
I just realized I rarely try to punish with any light buttons, like someone will whiff a move and I’ll try to punish with a medium or even a heavy button, I figured there are times when I could have punished with a lp or lk but since I tried with a medium the opponent was able to recover.
Idk maybe its an ADHD generation things but lifting weights doesn’t do it for me. Sure it feels good, but I wouldn’t call it engaging. Exercise for the sake of exercise never did it for me I prefer something more…applied?
The closest I’ve been to fun exercise is swinging a sledgehammer at a tire, but even that gets dull after the first day since I’m not actually using the tool for anything.
I’m like that with cardio. I can’t run, but put a ball down and I’ll play football for hours.
Weights is different. The challenge is lifting heavy shit.
To me that goes to any hobby or something you wanna do.
I’m an artist and even I have a problem of coming up with an idea for a piece, and then thinking about doing it for weeks… and then who knows if I’ll do it, procrastination is a pain in the ass man ._.
