In GG all grounded attacks are air unblockable unless you use faultless defense.
Kage is another Zeku in hiding.
A bit better from the jump but in need of like 1 or 2 QoL changes to make him a real consistent threat. He has to work a bit harder than some other “2-3 touch characters” but he’s a threat all the time. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’m playing winning get thrown once or twice maybe then get hit by a combo and I’m wondering… “When did the match get so close?” I’ve been winning most of the clock.
As he is now, I don’t think Kage is bad at all… but he requires some thought to play he doesn’t have much auto pilot stuff.
Yeah that is definitely the EVO effect. When I was first getting rolling on the game 8-10 mos back going into Ranked would result in playing the same 2 people a couple of times over an hour, and there would be a few player lobbies open. Granted, that is better than nothing so I wasn’t complaining, but if it is better than that even better.
You playing on PS4 or PC? I need to remember to hop on that again soon and ride the EVO wave. Maybe even smack some people up with my basic-ass Nanase.
Regarding netplay I have actually had mostly positive experiences so far here in the US. That was all before when I was either playing a specific person (MisterBee) or online randos, but so long as the connection read at a decent level it usually played out well. I think that is one of the few upsides of the game being so niche: the people playing it are more dedicated so I don’t think you’re getting wifi warriors or shit like that.
I blocked multiple ones without Barrier.
Attacks need to be flaged as air-unblockable to be air unblockable.
Which grounded attack did you air block without barrier?
Believe it was I-Nos 5S and her 5P a lot.
I play someone who mashes a lot, hard to identify every button.
Well I just tested all that.
Guess what you never actually did?
cr.hp > his DP.
EDIT**
May as well explain as to why.
Move has like 6 active frames, maybe more I think. Has absolutely insane cross-up protection, and the initial start-up frames catch jumps a bit further out. It’s like Sak’s cr.hp except it doesn’t lose to empty jumps as easily. Also only 8f, so fairly quick for a fierce AA.
DP obviously a better catch-all, but the risk of cross-unders on start-up are nonexistant if you just use this anyway.
I-no 5S is flagged as a projectile if I’m not mistaken. I can believe that one.
5P I’d like to see proof of.
Yeah, don’t say dumb shit when you know better. "Has to be flagged as a " FFS. If the character’s feet are grounded and its a physical attack, it can anti air. Don’t know why you’re making shit up on that.
I talked to a guy that worked on DMC5.
He said that all three actresses were scanned almost nude (in their knickers/nipplestickers).
The one that was used for Lady is Romanian. This should be her account https://www.instagram.com/andreativa/?hl=en
Out of all the shoto’s Kage is the one you have to be 100% fundamentally on point. One missed aa and it’s lights out.
Oh well guess I was lucky on that one then.
Oh no my character has 900 HP, if I do a mistake I die.
He’s the only shoto who has to deal with… wait a minute.
Yeah I disagree with that, Kage has some of the better “get off me” options, similar to Akuma. 3f button with decent reach, solid backdash, good backwalk to microwalk out of pressure. His VTC from EX.DP is also safer than Ken just like Akuma, IIRC. BUT, Kage is more likely to make bad choices and get jumped on because LP.Shakunetsu is 51f total, so he is more likely to create those scenarios.
There’s a frequency of times you could get jumped on quite easily because of the lack of solid fireball.
It’s critical that you have to aa with DP as Kage.
He doesn’t have an easy mode b.hp like Akuma.
Tbh i sometimes why on earth they even gave b.hp to a character like Akuma who already has a good dp.
I mean ,you get so much off that button for nothing.
Disagree with that too, his cr.hp is a pretty catch-all 8f fierce.
I know most Shoto player are dumb as bread, but there is prove some posts above that invalidates your point pretty easaly.
I kind of get it- once a character has a great all purpose AA you don’t really disrupt balance much by giving them a second one. So it’s a way to put a bigger variety of tools in the game without worrying about the overall effect.
