After Ken, do you think there are more “granted” characters to be revealed? I mean, Ryu, Chun-Li, Ken and to certain extent M. Bison are characters everyone expects to see on Street Fighter.
Who else would always make the cut? Guile? Sakura? Dan? Sagat?
She’s a cool design, exquisite dress. Not much of a fighter, agree, but she does look very good and gorgeous.
Outside of that I agree she would fit better other franchises like KOF or Darkstalkers.
Just noticed due to it being brought up in another thread. This “leak” may have just proven itself false. Not that many felt it held weight.
Ken was revealed at SDCC not Evo. Eagle hasn’t been teased. Both characters are confirmed to not be in the beta, at least not the first PS4 beta. Also Ken has already been made playable to public at SDCC so likely the EVO build will include him.
You and me both she should never been in a Street Fighter game. Darkstalkers? Sure. She fits perfectly. Street Fighter? Any canon appearance in Street Fighter is essentially taking a dump on what storyline we do have. Bison goes from badass to wimpy guy that stole his powers from a Loli. Don’t do it Capcom.
Akuma was in every Street Fighter game except SF1 and SF3 until Third Strike, so I expect his announcement sooner or later
Seeing how they changed up Ken visually and movelist wise - Akuma would be fucking amazing with all his power put to a good use, especially after seeing how much of a powerhouse Ryu is

That sounded like complete bullshit from the very beginning. From the bullshit character names, little/random tidbits of gameplay (“dive kick character”) and the fact this guy seemed to know in detail the complete release plan from Capcom… that’s just stupid. He couldn’t even write Birdie’s name right, LOL.
Nice thing is, the next char reveal should be a whole new character. This will definitively decide if any of the leaked lists are correct as the two currently floating around both provide specific names to the new characters.

What about Zangief?
The “duh” characters are probably Ryu/Ken/Chun/Akuma/Sakura/Bison/Cammy. They all consistently appear in main games and cross overs and lots of capcom products. I’d say Zangief and Sagat are probably a strong contender too.
Gief was completely left out of SF3 and didn’t appear in Alpha series until Alpha 2
Everyone was completely left out of SF3. Even Chun-Li, she was lucky on making the cut for the third game, but that’s all.
I like to take the Capcom Fighting Jam roster as an indicator of what characters are more or less the essential from each series (well, Street Fighter II mostly):
Capcom Fighting Jam is a bad example in general because it’s a failed product, and is no way an indication of anything (really? Chun in SF3 section?)
The roster was not bad in the essentials. Outside of Karin, Gill and Alex, all the other characters went into SF4.
Chun-Li was slipped in as a SF3 character but that’s kind of justified because 3S is one of her best verisons, and that allowed her to play with the SFIII system.
Kind of justified, but still bullshit. They should have made her SF2 or not put her in and given an actual SF3 char the slot IMO. It was a cop-out to do it the way they did. Not that it really mattered in the end but still, a cop out, she was the only char that broke the mold on that one. Unless you are counting Ryu being from SF1.
Also I’d still kind of like a CFJ2. I thought that the IDEA was interesting, just the execution sucked. Of course it’d also be super hard to impossible to balance the games due to differences in system mechanics being such a huge part of the game and specific games just offer so much more system mechanics wise than others
Anyways, more on topic, I think that after the new character it’ll be Alex/Urien. We are really due for an SF3 character to be revealed. Frankly I’m amazed that they did Ken at this point since there was already 4 SF2 characters revealed. I guess they wanted to get Ken out of the way though so people wouldn’t be disappointed after getting all hyped up “Omg Ken hasn’t been announced and they’ve already shown most of the cast! I wonder if Ken isn’t going to be in this one.” That type of situation.
I’m so sad… Seeing this game and even more after the Ken changes… I want Adon even more. Nut knowing that he is no fan favourite I have no hopes.
Well, the next stage announced is Brazil and I think it’s gonna be on the beta. Probably a Brazilian character like Blanka or Sean is next. Or they could announce Alex and a New York stage (that can be used for Ken too), but I’m sure a Brazilian character is coming soon.
Seeing that an Egypt stage is teased too in Nash’s artwork, then yeah, Alex is a possibility.

Yeah I did make a mistake, fixed it. I had Karin where Ken was and I missed Karin’s entry. I had typed everything up by hand and then tried to re-order it in note pad before I copy-pasted and I missed it I guess.
