I don’t know how people are thinking Honda, Akuma, or Necro. Especially with the still images out, it can only be a brand new character. That is definitely a good thing. I’m waiting for some returning favorites as well, but nothing beats the excitement of a brand new character.

How does the albino, v-face, yellow eye, dreads look remotely like Blanka, Akuma or Necro? Even a redesign of either one wouldn’t look right.

It’s too Japanese, I doubt international markets would understand that flashy style of female wrestling fashion. I remember I saw one day a picture (fan art, most likely) with Mika sans domino mask and wearing a red tank top, it gave her an MMA vibe.
Mika is one of the least popular Street Fighter characters, they might take a chance this time to rework her and bringing her a little of relevance. I also think her moveset/fighting style would be changed on its core; no Flying Peach attacks, for example. Also, could they change her personality into something less loud and less obnoxious?
Bottomline, I don’t think that rumor of her coming back could be true. I just don’t know but she feels too freaking out of place in Street Fighter V.
I’m fine with how Mika looks overall. All I’d really like to see changed is her hair style but it may be too iconic to her character. Hair change or not, I’d be happy to see her in the game. Good pokes, good AA, just beef up her command throw range. I’m a guy that gets hard with simple but effective fundamentals. May be too vanilla or boring for other people, but I revel in it. I can play HF shoto mirrors all day and not get tired of it.
a UFC/MMA girl is basically what Mila is DOA5 and she plays really cool. Nice mix of grappling and CQC moves.
A character like this in SFV would be cool, even if they took R. Mika and gave her that treatment.
Where you get that from? Mika is always highly requested right under the usual 4(Alex, Karin, Q, Urien).
Unless you’re talking about how many people PLAY Mika you’re flat wrong on this. Mika consistently ranks among the most requested characters and the highest ranked in popularity polls. If she is added you can BET flying peach is in there. That is her most iconic move. It’d be like Chun Li without lightning legs.
So either his name will be V, Vendetta, Guy, Fawkes, or Guy Fawkes. Where your curly mustache at? Or hey maybe he’ll go by “Anonymous”.
Also Mika shouldn’t be “MMA girl.” She isn’t. She’s distinctly Japanese Pro Wrestling. She needs to be over the top. She’s pretty much NJPW or Dragon Gate material. In this era of Pro Wrestling, stuff like WWE can’t hold a candle to New Japanese Pro Wrestling in terms of creativity, giving the wrestlers command and ownership of their own characters and story progression, and in overall entertainment.
I think it’d be very appropriate to have a Japanese Pro Wrestler up there and I think Mika would be a fun pick to represent some of the best of Japanese Pro Wrestling. Hell, they even could have her parody some of signature moves of Rainmaker Okada, Kenny Omega, Tanahashi, and among many other pro wrestling talents.
