While I 100% agree Ken is most likely in for sure. I donât think itâs IMPOSSIBLE that theyâd not include him. They may not have ever had a STREET FIGHTER game without Ken, but there certainly has been fighting games with Ryu and not Ken so they arenât like tied together at a 100% rate.
(For those curious as to which games Ryu was in but not Ken)
Marvel Vs Capcom 1
Tatsunoko vs Capcom (and TVC:UAS)
Capcom Fighting Evolution (AKA Capcom Fighting Jam)
Marvel Vs Capcom 3 (and UMVC3)
I THINK those are the only ones with Ryu but not Ken. Itâs pretty damn likely Ken will be in SF5, he is one of the most popular characters in the franchise and their rivalry is very iconic to the series. I do hope that they further expand on the characters differences if Ken does make it. That said it looks like other than Ryuâs denjin mode he doesnât have any new moves that weâve seen so the differences between the two might be pretty similar to SF4 rather than like SF3 or CvS2.
I was actually hoping to see something like that, or a female character having a different body type in general. Mokotos really the only one who just sticks out to me as really âtoughâ
I love my girl Makoto. Every attack she does has so much weight and impact behind it. So satisfying. But Iâd wish theyâd do something to give her a more feminine look. When a female character is constantly mistaken for a boy, you might want to doll her up a lil. Shina in newer versions of Bloody Roar IMO is the best example of a tomboy female character. Tough, and looks like she can throw down, but still has a feminine look and appeal to her.
Yeah, Makoto is definitely a character Iâve been drawn to since 3S, and even now, when someone who is really good with her wreaks havoc with her in USF4, itâs pretty hype. Haitaniâs comeback at the tourney last year (canât remember which) was really really damn good.
However, I wouldnât say Makotoâs chubby. Strong and tough yes, but not chubby. I think she just wears a gi thatâs a few sizes too big on her. Her dizzy animation in 3S makes it look like sheâs swimming in that thing as it just hangs off her.
@SAOTOMETU Who said Makoto was chubby? That girl is ripped in SFIV. Also the dude who suggest more chubby female body types. Uh no. These are world class fighters. They canât be out of shape like that. Thatâs why Rufus is so damn absurd ( at least to me ). Now some larger girls like Psychojosh was talking about, thatâd be cool.
P.S. The Gi she wears could be her dadâs. Her way of keeping him with her in battle.
I think the person who said she was chubby said she had âchubby hitboxesâ, as opposed to the character herself looking chubby? Though, I do admit when I first saw her in 3rd Strike, I thought she was a guy.
I was refering to @Uglylittlebirdy He was the one that suggested that. And as for Makoto thatâs exactly what Iâm talking about. They need to girl her up a lil. Maybe a tighter fitting Gi to show off her body, Maybe a more feminine hair style (Iâd think sheâd look good with side bangs and a messy pony tail.) You know what Iâma draw my ideal design for Makoto and post it.
Just so we are clear. Its insulting to call Ryuâs SF5 ultra(wasnât the past 7 years of ultraâs enough? Fuck this game) Denjin hadoken. Denjin is unblockable. You have to parry it. Without a parry in the game, a true denjin cannot exist. Ono once again has shitted in the FGCâs mouth. Every living moment revenge meter exists in the latest build of SF5, combofiend and haunts are Effiel towering your girlfriend, PS4/PC owners. We need a time machine to go back and stop onoâs promotion and keep him as the sound producer he was in 3rd Strike.
I never said she was chubby s: I just said id like more girl characters with different body types and I used her as an example (the âwe need chubby chicksâ thing was a joke lol)
But yeah, she coulddd be girled up a bit. I personally think sheâs cool as hell rn. I personally think a tough, punch-heavy county girl would be a nice addition
My bad then, when it was mentioned about chubby girls, then someone mentioned Makoto, I thought they were saying sheâs the only âchubbyâ girl in the series. To be honest, she is probably one of the more thicker female characters (not counting Chun and her thighs). But I agree, when I first saw Makoto I thought she was a guy as well, but I think thatâs all the more reason I liked her â the whole tough tomboy thing as opposed the over feminine ones in SF up to that point. Sheâs such a popular character, I could see her returning again.
Some dude drawing art for Ken on a tablet is hardly anywhere close to a confirm and I hope to god they wont waste a slot on him with the rumoured 16 character slots. SF4 already has too many shotos, Iâd like a game where they only had one and allowing for a wider variety of character play styles and a stronger focus on balancing and developing those different styles.
Could you nut-hug SF3 any harder? Serious question.
That Ken drawing clip is from the documentary âI am Street Fighterâ. They show it while interviewing a Udon artist. I keep seeing a few people assuming itâs artwork for SFV.
How the hell can you even quantify this? This sounds more like you pulled it out of your ass than used any statistical data. Having a specific character in a game and the amount of units said character moves is nearly an impossibility to measure. The only way I can remotely think of is asking every POS why theyâre buying the game and for the plurality of them to say âBecause of Kenâ which I DOUBT would ever happen.
SF3âs first and second iterations didnât have him so its not entirely unthinkable to not have him. I hope they relegate Ken to an alternate colour so the castâs variety isnât as shallow as vanilla SF4s was. The disc release had 5-6 shotoâs (depending on if you count Rose, I donât) making a 5th of its cast shoto characters. Granted the game wanted to be 3d SF2 and most of them were WW originals but SF5 doesnât need that attachment to the original cast.
